Ready Player WON!

So in my last post, I spoke about the constant battle I'm having whether or not to buy certain cards...

As an investor and or as a player!

Tonight, I dove into some card purchases strictly from a players perspective.

And I hope you guys can give me some feedback on whether or not, I'm finally understanding this game LOL

albatross.png

I got my Gold Albatross up to Level 6.

And here's my reasoning behind it;

  • It's a 1 Mana Card! I can stick this guy into almost any line up for Water. These are such sneaky little plays and I'm slowly becoming a massive fan of the 1 Mana cards.

  • Tank Heal! I'll get into why this is so important in a few seconds but for 1 Mana AND tank heal. It just feels like a win!

  • I use Water quite a bit, so this will be a heavily used card for me.

  • Gold foil means...Gold bonuses ;)

Now looking back at the Tank Heal, another reason I snagged this guy up and got him to level 6 is because the only other lower mana card in Water with tank heal seems to be Crustacean King.

More expensive at 3 mana but also...He's Alpha / Beta...Which means, I won't be able to use him in the new league play when Splinterlands splits it's formats.

Obviously, there's much more to it then that, as I described above, but hey...Gold foil cards with heavy use case....I'm here for it :)

Question for you guys...

What cards have you been targeting right now for heavy game play that you think are under valued?

I would love to see what cards you think players should be focusing on before the launch of Chaos Legion!

I do like to use a lot of low mana cards also, they come in handy to fill in those little bits of mana left when you are setting your line up. Below is a gold common card that can be picked up for under $30 and is pretty powerful. It's a higher mana card but a nice tank that is affordable to play with.

Nectar Queen is a bad ass card! Love the flying ability.

As a new player I like the lvl2 Djinn Chwala and Twilight Basilisk combo which gives 2 additional melee.

Twilight Basilisk is a great card for the second position, especially when teamed up with the right summoner :-D

I am currently waiting for Chaos Legions to get a summoner or two. With the rewards cards I am targeting using a lvl 2 summoner. Starting to combine and sell extras to get ones that work with a lvl 2 summoner. 3 common, 2 rare and epic and I am still looking for that first legendary to drop.

I think the Djinn Chwala and Twilight Basilisk combo gets close to matching the double healer combo I see with Shieldbearer a lot.

I LOVE Djinn Chwala and got me win a lot of battles in Bronze but never did pay attention to Twilight Basilik, seems really good at level 2 compared to level 1.

A summoner like Daria Dragonscale will make both these cards a must-MAXout!

I am just starting to build a deck so focused on growing past lvl 1. I assume the game changes as the levels change. I currently just ignore trample in the ruleset because nothing at my level has that ability. Still Learning.

Most of the cards that I like to use have jumped in price. I am now renting cards that will ensure I get the most out of the highest ranking I get in a season. So far, renting has been covered by the additional loot chests and higher DEC for ranked wins. I am very tired of droping back down at the beginning of each season and fighting my way back to the Silver League. I am looking at all the suggestions so that I can improve my deck for as little as possible.

Seems to be all about the cards.

My strategy has been watching what other people are playing and trying to counter their cards. Not always effective but it does help!

Is this a card that someone could easily rent out if they had it and weren't playing the game? I know there are mana limits on the battles so it seems that having a card with low mana but other powers would be something that other players might want to rent.

I do not think so because to buy the card only costs $1.58 so it is easy to buy, and can't imagine it would increase your Power by any more than 5 points.

Gold version was only like 20 bucks. So it could rent but you wouldn't get a huge return.

I see! Thanks, Jon! Have a great Saturday and weekend. Congratulations on the Buffalo Bills' win! I know it was worth it for you watching that game. But you're a true fan so you like all the games, right?! 😀

The only issues with Albatros are that it has low life and no protection, unless offered by the ruleset or another card/the summoner. It is one of the first opportunity targets. I rarely use it on its own because of that. If you have / will have Crustacean, it might be worth it to upgrade Albatros further, as a player (although I stopped at level 6 too). Why? Because Crustacean has Speed 1 and at top level I believe Albatros has Speed 4. That improves the chances of the tank to remain alive, instead of when both tank healers are slow.

I know what you mean, the Albatros has been good to me even at level 1. I completely misjudged the card as it is very difficult for a monster without flight to hit, and being a target, gives a bit more protection for my other cards.

Yep, as a bait it can be useful every time. But my preferred option after the chicken is the Creeping Ooze for its speed debuff. Unless it's a reversed order ruleset or no neutrals.

Yeah I still am trying to figure out how to play him effectively. I just love the 1 mana cards lol

I think it's a good buy. 1 mana tank heal is awesome. A kraken + crustacean + albatross would be hard to beat.

Thank you that looks like a great strategy. I will try it on my next water quest :-D

I hope it works out well! There's a similar strategy with the Life splinter that works but costs a lot more mana.

Venari SeedSmith
This is my favorite
This card is so cool especially if you can bury him in the back. Every time a monster on either side dies his life goes up by 1. With a Mana of just 5 and a Distance Attack of 2, you can see why I play this card whenever I can.

Play Seedsmith at Noxious Fumes and watch the Scavenger ability do its work. This card is underrated for sure!
