[SL] - Five Battles, Five Lessons

Vigilator Meltdown

unknown.png

The Vigilator was my favorite monster when I picked up Splinterlands. Between double strike, thorns, and poison Big V is an absolute tornado or problems for any enemy it comes up against. My favorite DRAGON Summoner, Daria Dragonscale. plays very will with big V by boosting their attack (which hits twice). While there are opportunities to play a similar Double Strike Boost strategy in the LIFE splinter, to me, it's never more fun that watching The Vigilator take down 3-4 monsters in a single round.

How To Stone Golem

I love cheap staples and the EARTH splinter is full of them. For his their price Stone Golem is an absolute rockstar (sorry, had to) in the right deck. Don't let his admittedly impressive older brother Flesh Golem distract you. While Flesh Golem makes a fantastic traditional tank Stone Golem bring abilities that more for make up for his lower stats. His backline make or break this strategy though so be sure to stack creatures that bring other powerful abilities to the fight when parking this 5-cost brute in your front line.

Kron Stands Alone

Kron, oh Kron. I love Kron for the same reason I love Lord Arianthus, what is does is imitated by many other cards but duplicated by none. This card is so powerful in specific formats that running it with the plan of triggering Last Stand as quickly as possible is a very valid strategy. At level 3 Kron in Last Stand heals for +5 HP each round. Many teams are simply unable to overcome this massive challenge.

While Kron always loves the backline in big team fights he shines most brightly in weird semi-solo battle lines like this one.

Cube 'N Kron

unknown.png

I've never read the Splinterlands lore so in my head-cannon Kron is kinda like a badass Multani and Cube is his lil buddy who provides much needed comic relief. Within your first 50 games you should have realized that Cube dominates rule sets that deal damage in a way almost no other card can. But you know what's even better.

Hint: Kron is my favorite monster in Splinterlands.

Right Deck, Wrong Fight

unknown.png

This battle provides the single best lesson that any new Splinterlands player can really learn to improve at the game. Please watch the video and see if you can guess what I mean by that.

First, I love this battle line. While my favorite part of this game is how it pushes you away from running the same line-ups too often this is one I have grown to really love. Between Flesh Golem and his support your tank is pulling in a massive amount of healing and pairing this strategy with Mylor Crowling you can turn that healing into extra damage by using thorns.

This fight is brutal one and in the end I lose. Sometimes it just goes that way yall. While I maybe could have predicted my enemy running Ruler of the Sea and known to watch for Blast these are the regrets that drive you crazy and turn something that's supposed to be fun into a chore. Sometimes we lose and that's ok. More often than not there are more lessons in our losses than our victories. Be kind to yourselves.

I hope this is helpful yall! If so please let me know by commenting here. If you are looking for any specific advice feel free to reach out to me directly. Stay safe out there yall!
