Splinterlands - My Experience with New Rental Market (Update)

In a prior post I was talking about how I enjoy using the new updated rental market in Splinterlands / Peakmonsters. Now it has been almost a week I have to say I am liking it even more. The earnings I am getting currently to lend out my cards daily versus playing with the cards daily is earning me over 1,000 DEC a day!!!

There is a desire for rental cards and I am seeing it first hand as I continue to raise prices of some of my top lending cards and they continue to get picked up within 48 hours.

The majority of my rental earnings are my alpha summoners. Currently there are very few alpha rare summoners available on the rental market and I am taking advantage of this by increasing my summoner's rental cost. However not to go over board I am renting the cards at or below average low price DEC/day as listed in the Peakmonster's rental market.

24 hour cool down on rental cards

The rental market for canceling a card from rental is quite easy to use on Peakmonsters.

Once removed from the rental market I have to wait 24 hours before I can change its price and repost for new rental. While the 24 hour waiting time is due in part that the rental is still held by current renter and will expire only after their 24 hour rental is over. This is far better than the old system.

In the old system it takes seven days until the card can be rented out again. In addition if a lender is to break the contract they lose the escrow fee that was set in the rental will all go back to the renter. When a contract expires the escrow fee is split 50/50 so half the earnings goes back to the renter.

In the new system there is no escrow fee and either renter or lender can break the contract any time as it is paid out on a daily basis. When the contract is broken it will last until that day of the rental is up and lender and lend out the card again.

Bulk rental of cards

In peakmonsters we are now able to bulk rent/lend cards which makes pricing the cards in rental market much easier. Rather than doing individual ones in the old system the new system can select multiple of the same summoner/monster at different levels for pricing.

Although it would be even better if multiple different card can be put selected to have price set in one instance. Still it saves time to have this bulk feature.

Conclusions

The hype in Splinterlands is real. From an experience gamer of this game I have never seen this much interest before. The demand for purchase of game cards was amazing in itself with a majority of alpha regular legends are over $100.

Then now having used the new rental system for over just a week I have notice that demand for renting cards have been also in high demand. There is nothing like it I seen in any cryptocurrency I have played and I have played almost all cryptocurrency games on Hive and some of the most popular in the space. Bottom line there is a lot of demand right now for Splinterlands and likely we will see more price increases in all parts of the game.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I have plenty of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:

Although it would be even better if multiple different card can be put selected to have price set in one instance.

You can do that. You just check them and then click load in the pop-up. But maybe you were referring to something else?

I would like to be able to put in my own price (rather tha using load) for the first card and then select all the ones below to have the same price.

The only way I have found to do that is to use the % but then you have to guess the % until you find what matches the price you're after. Very time consuming.

But, it's a brilliant tool. Save a ton of time and I'm honing my strategy for the best way to use it day by day. 😊
