Buying @splinterlands cards with $HIVE

As a long time player on @splinterlands I try to stay competitive and that means adding to my deck on a regular basis. I've purchased plenty of untamed packs with DEC that I have earned and used to buy a good few cards with STEEM back in the past. Since I am now powering down most of my STEEM and won't be using it for transactions going forward I will need a new way to buy cards and keep pushing upwards in the leagues.

Looking towards the weekend you can see that there are a lot of strong tournaments set up for the bitcoin halving and include a large number of Untamed only. A smart ploy by the @splinterlands team as we now have to bulk up our untamed decks to compete in a lot of the new tournaments even with strong decks already. It's just good business.

So to compete I will need to buy some more cards and lots of gold ones preferably, (they just look nicer) using $HIVE since my DEC is very low and the market price for it has gone up at the moment. Plus buying it involves moving hive to a trading platform, getting a good price and then withdrawing it to @splinterlands and we want to keep things a simple as possible. This is where the new credit system comes into play. I saw it in an update a while back but though it was an unnecessary addition as we already so many options. Turns out that @aggroed and @yabamatt still know what they are doing and it's a very handy option for buying cards. Sorry guy's, keep up the good work. 😜 I take it all back. 😂

Buying Credits

So to make it work with $HIVE was very simple. The first thing to do is click on the green plus symbol for adding credits. It's the one in the left of the photo below. The other one is for adding DEC

That will bring up the menu for buying some credits and I will be using $HIVE this time. There is a large range of options for players from other systems including:

• Paypal
• STEEM
• Tron
• Bitcoin
• Litecoin
• Ethereum
• Bitcoin Cash
• Kucoin shares

Being a member of the #HIVE blockchain it's great to be able to spend some of the coins that I can earn from using the platform and buying real assets with them.

I will be paying with #HIVE keychain, the best tool for managing transactions on the blockchain and accessing the different interfaces on #HIVE. I did double check how much the tansaction would cost to see it there was any hidden charge and from current market prices I was able to buy $10 of credits using $9.82 of $HIVE so i actually came out on the right side of the trade by a few cents.







After that all that was left is to pick out a shiny new gold foil summoner and try to win back the cost in the upcoming tournaments. I went with DRAKE OF ARNAK at $4.79 which took 4790.00 of my credits, simple as that. I found it really easy to buy credits and spend them on site and thinks it's a great way to use some of my $HIVE coins.
