SPT USD Value Just Exploaded

SPT just shot to the moon in price. No less then just a handful of weeks ago this token was barely showing $10 USD in trades for a 24 hour period. Today (7/27/2021) we can see there's already been 2,383 hive/ $789 in SPT trades and that number is likely to increase as the day goes on.

The sudden increase in price is very likely due to the SPS governance token that has started to be airdropped today. Currently the SPS token is selling for about 40 USD Cents. Holding Splinterlands assests is the only way to be included in the SPS airdrop. One of those assets that count towards airdrop points is the SPT token and that is likely the reason for the sudden SPT price increase. I bet we have allot of happy SPT holders today :)

SPT Buy & Sell Orders 7/27/2021

As you can see there's currently a big gap between the buy and sell orders. Will this pump last? Will SPT continue to rise in price?? No-one knows for sure but one thing is for certain. Its a great time to be a Splinterlands Investor/Player.

The airdrop I mentioned earlier lasts for 12 Months and drops free SPS tokens daily to anyone holding Splinterlands assests (Learn More Here). Below is a screen shot of the SPT buy and sell orders just eight short days ago.

I have also attached the buy and sell orders of DEC and a screenshot of the highest costing Gold Foil Legendary cards currenlty being sold on the Splinterlands Marketplace. Everything Splinterlands related has been pumping in price. Current Card Marketcap $50 MILLION+ USD.

Hey dude... just a question... did your "MY TOTAL AIRDROP POINTS:" change at all on the Splinterlands website between yesterday and today? My dropped 150,000 points and I'm not super sure why...

Mine went up due to a couple card sales.

DEC is 1:1 for airdrop points. Cards go by their DEC burn rate so its better to hold DEC for airdrop points. If you bought cards with DEC that is likely where the drop in points came from.

Ah... I've got some DEC in the liquidity pools (DAI and WETH) on Uniswap... and I claimed the rewards yesterday and bought some summoner cards with those rewards... so maybe that was it... it's really the only thing I can think of. It was just 11,000 DEC though... but what I can do is wait a few days for the liquidity rewards to build up again and see if it goes back up.

I wonder if they're measuring the combined pairings in the DEC liquidity pools (ie, the DEC and the corresponding DAI) or just the DEC. If it's just the DEC that might make sense if people have been buying up DEC from those pools like crazy right now.

DEC in Pools count as 2:1 for airdrop points so if you pulled out DEC from a pool that would lower your airdrop points as well. I haven't joined any pools yet but I might look into it tomorrow. Getting double points for airdrop is a sweet deal.

I worked out my problem... I had originally put:

521,974 DEC + 455.9912 DAI into the DEC-DAI pool on Uniswap... this cost $858.15 175 days ago. The value of my liquidity is now $2,785, which is great, my investment increased... but because DEC has gone bananas in price and everyone is buying it, I now only have 1,395 DAI and 177,769 DEC. This is the whole impermanent loss thing which can be the downside to Liquidity Pools.

The lower amounts of actual DEC affects my airdrop points... and if I had just kept the DEC by itself then that investment would be worth a lot more... but if/when DEC starts decreasing in price then it should re-balance for me automatically.

So yeah... I guess you need to figure out if you think DEC will continue to increase in price or not... and if so, maybe the LPs aren't the way to go right now.

I feel pretty lucky that I started accumulating SPT when it was almost "worthless".
I didn't put too much money into it, but still pretty crazy to see what it is worth today.

I never sold an SPT token because I hoped they would have a new use case at some point and this airdrop gave value to SPT tokens.

Its a great time to be a Splinterlands Investor/Player.

Its insane to think about. I would of never of thought reg foil legendaries would be selling for hundreds of dollars. A card I purchased for $9 this morning is now selling for $80*.
