Hello friends, happy weekend 😄
Today I finally finished this strange character from splinterlands, and well, like Lorna, I think it is a great design and I really liked how I managed to represent it in 3D.

Hoy finalmente termine el este extraño personaje de splinterlands, y pues al igual que Lorna, me parece un diseño genial y me gusto mucho como logre representarlo en 3D.

As you can see, a lot of work was missing from the trailer I shared in the previous post https://ecency.com/hive-193212/@rowell/es-en-3dart-kobold-miner. Although now that I realize that some details are not really visible 😁 like the nipples, the garter of the pants, giving the pants a less smooth look, between small details of the feet.


como pueden observar si faltaba bastante trabajo desde el avance que les compartí en el post anterior https://ecency.com/hive-193212/@rowell/es-en-3dart-kobold-miner. Aunque ahora que me doy cuenta algunos detalles no son realmente visibles 😁 como las tetillas, la liga de los pantalones, dar apariencia menos lisa a los pantalones, entre pequeños detalles de los pies.

The most relevant changes that I made at the sculpture level were in the face, because as I mentioned before, it is difficult to do it without the symmetry tool. On the other hand, there is the modeling of what was missing and the textures, with which I was testing with the toon style, but I preferred not to use it this time, although I did this test render.


Los cambios mas relevantes que hice a nivel de escultura fue en la cara, porque como mencione antes, es difícil hacerlo sin la herramienta de simetría. Por otra parte esta el modelado de lo que faltaba y las texturas, con las cuales estuve probando con el estilo toon, pero preferí no usarlo esta vez, aunque hice este render de prueba.

-Simulación de fuego y nodos para dar mejor apariencia.

-Para evitarme molestias con el modelado del paño que tiene, hice un plano, aplique los modificadores de subdivisión y solidificar, para luego hacer una simulación de tela, quedo muy bien.
-To avoid discomfort with modeling the cloth, I made a plane, applied the subdivision and solidification modifiers, and then did a fabric simulation, it fit me very well.

-Y finalmente pintar la textura de la escultura.
-And finally paint the texture for the sculpture.

After all this, we have to do the renders that also take time in the cycles engine since my gpu does not have raytracing, and I did several to show you a little more closely.


Luego de todo esto, hay que hacer los renders que también toman tiempo en el motor de cycles ya que mi gpu no cuenta con raytracing, e hice varios para mostrarles un poco mas de cerca.

Fantastic job on the Kobold Miner! Could this be used as a pattern for a 3D printer without too much effort?

I do not know friend, I do not know the parameters that the model must have for printing.
I've never seen a 3D printer, they must be great.

Did you retopo and just skip telling us that step or did you paint and render the sculpt mesh?! :O

Don't blame you for choosing not to use the toon style shading at this stage, it takes a surprising amount of effort to get right (but looks pretty cool when you do). Model looks great how you did it. Love the particle fire :)

The particle fire is great, although I have problems when I don't save the bake to disk C.
I did not want to do retopology, it would have taken a long time to do it, I am still a novice, I have more than a year learning blender and I feel that I have a lot to learn, there are many things, although I was stopped for several months and that made me forget things.

I think you need to save the bake results to disk otherwise it will recalculate it in again instead of using the bake when rendering x_x

at least that's the way it seemed when I was playing with cloth dynamics

Fair enough if you needed to have this done quickly, it can take a bit to get a handle on. Put it on your list of things to learn soon as it will make a lot of things easier down the line :)

If it's any consolation I've been using Blender for a few years (since 2.7) and I'm still a novice ^_^;

@ashikstd thanks friend, the software called "Blender" is open source, and you can do great things with it, even netflix made a movie called "Next Gent" using mostly Blender.

This is really freakin' cool! I love SL and I'm a visual artist myself, but I haven't gotten into 3D yet. I have the program on my iPad Pro, but... This looks so very cool - great job!
