Wow, I got busy at the wrong time. I should have been braggin more about how much Splinterlands went up in the last few weeks. For sure now that Untammed Packs sold out. Land sold out, and soon the last packs Dice will be gone also. The Marketcap of the cards have gone up around a 4x in a few weeks. All that value is in the hands of players. That is what sets this game aside compared to so many others. The team is out to make a game that will reward us more than them. Congrats on the very nice season rewards! I got a LOT of potions this time around, lol. But, also one 2,000 DEC hit, so not too bad.
The game feels like it's in kind of a weird place right now, at least as someone that came in later (almost a year ago) and didn't spend too heavily on cards. It used to feel like I was making progress on building up a collection via playing, whereas now it seems like owning cards is increasingly out of reach from just playing. That 2K would have gotten some garbage rares, or a maybe a couple decent Epics months ago. Now, I can get a couple garbage epics with it :o
Heh, I regret not working on building up a better collection now. Right now the rental market seems like the only reasonable way to try to progress in the game. Granted, it's part of the problem as people bought out even more cards just to rent them out! Hopefully things will be a bit more attainable once Chaos Legion comes out.
Ah, I should've made the last comment on this post. I'll take the opportunity to mention that lots of new people are going to find your Youtube channel due to Splinterlands, so when your coworker does come back and you can make more videos, it might help your channel grow too.
I didn't know you could get cards from a loot chest, lol. Thanks for the content. Curious to see where the price of DEC goes from here. I looked at Axie Infinity months ago and drew zero appeal from it. Just found Splinterlands a couple days ago, and despite being late, I'm hopeful I'm early when we zoom out 5 years from now.
