Splinterlands Weekly Challenge | The great power of "Cerberus".

PORTADAS HIVE (4).gif

Here we are again in another weekly challenge and although it has been hard for me to participate in them, here I am in another new challenge to improve my battle skills. Before continuing with the official description of my battle, as usual, I want to thank the @splinterlands team and @carrieallen, for this great initiative, which week after week, allows us to face great challenges, with the sole purpose of improving our strategies in the field using cards and / or specific rules.

Likewise, this challenge is very interesting and is linked more than anything else to the power and strength of one of my favorite cards that are part of the Splinter of fire, which is nothing more and nothing less than "Cerberus", this card in my opinion reflects power, since its great strength of melee attack, makes it an excellent weapon against my opponents, but I will delve into this later. Now, without further delay I will start with the publication of this challenge.

This is the section where I explain in detail all the attributes that the challenge card has, in this sense, we can see that the card is of the rare type, in addition to this, I have it at its maximum level which is 8, so all its benefits, abilities and attack power are at the maximum. Based on the above, in my opinion, this is a front attack card, very useful and really powerful, having as one of its main functions in the field, to serve as a tank in the first position.

Subsequently, there is its low summoning level, which is 4 mana, so it can adapt to different types of battles, in addition to this, its life is quite high, which gives it a very good resistance that, combined with its "Heal" ability, which allows that in each turn its life can recover, makes it a difficult opponent to beat. Last but not least, his second ability makes him a dangerous and very fast attacker, since, with his 5 points of speed and the "Retaliate" ability, he can immediately return the attack to the opponent's monster and get severely injured, with his maximum power of 4 melee attack points.

This battle was really interesting, because, even though my opponent had a pretty high power, he didn't know how to adapt his cards and equipment to the battle rule, which of course affected his strategy and ended up giving me an advantage in the battle, proving that the power of your deck is not the most important thing but the strategies you use to win.

Something that I will implement new to publish in my challenges is to check my opponent's stats. His rating for that moment was 3742 and the highest he has reached is 4834, now, the remarkable thing about this is the amount of power he has, since, it is moderately high and compared to the total power of my deck, in this case my opponent has a great advantage with a total power 3.126.012. His Guild is at level 7, positioning itself above where I am called "SL Spanish School" at level 4. In summary, in every way I had the advantage, however, I was able to win this battle, demonstrating that it is not about the total power that your cards possess, but the strategy you use and that you also gear the rules of the battle, with the abilities of your cards.

Daria Dragonscale

This is the summoner I chose for this battle, because the rule of the battle stipulated that monsters with magic attack could not be used in battle, based on this, I decided to mislead my opponent, using a Dragon Splinter summoner, combining it with my fire equipment, since, surely my opponent would think I would use a fire summoner, because the only Splinters we could use were fire and dragon.

Cerberus

The card for this challenge and of course, I had no different place to put it if not as a tank in my strategy, also with the low mana of 17 points, allowed me to summon it easily, facing against his "Selenia" and his "Manticore" as a tank. Also my Cerberus could easily defeat his tank, because my opponent did not use cards that supported him in attack to defeat my main card, but he used a monster called "Magnor", which basically absorbs all the attacks of the rest of my team with his "Taunt" ability.

Furious Chicken

This is the card I chose for the second position, its only function is to serve as a backup in case my "Cerberus" falls in battle, all this in order to give more time to the rest of my cards to attack, in this case to his "Magnor", decreasing as much as possible his large amount of life that amounts to 15 points.

Kobold Miner

I used this card in order to weaken my opponent's back team, for this reason, I used my "Kobold" with its intrinsic ability of "Sneak", also its great attack power of 3 points was boosted by my Daria Dragonscale with an additional point of attack, giving it a total of 4, I also have to highlight the great speed that my card has with 5 points which gives me the advantage to attack first.

Spark Pixies

One of my favorite cards to use in battle with the fire Splinter, is undoubtedly "Spark Pixies", for this reason I placed him in this position, in order to protect him and he could freely attack the tank of my opponent, which did not happen, because, due to the card "Magnor" all the attacks of the rest of my cards were directed to it, so the skills of my Spark, were not fully exploited as I would have liked, but still, before falling, my Pixies left his Magnor with 2 points of life and almost defeated.

Fire Battle

The last card in my lineup and the one that complements my back attack team, which I use very often in my battles, since its low mana allows me to easily summon it to battle and take advantage of its "Snipe" abilities to weaken monsters that have magic and/or ranged attacks. In short, this card did its job and helped me easily defeat her "Magnor" card, which drew all my attacks towards her.

My strategy worked perfectly, being one of the star cards my "Cerberus", the strongest tank of the field, on the other hand, even though his card "Magnor" changed my strategy in a way, my back attack cards worked very well and could beat together one of the strongest cards of the field which, of course, is Magnor which thanks to its ability to attract all other attacks towards it, was what easily made me win the battle.

Really for the battle rule and the splinters we could use, I wouldn't have done anything different, really my strategy was well designed and even though it suffered a change, it still allowed me to win the battle.

image.png

Yes it is a card that I use very often in my battles, it really is very powerful and the best thing is that, its low mana allows me to almost always summon it without any problem regardless of the battle rules. So I highly recommend that you can take this card to its maximum level and use it in your battles, I assure you that it is very useful.
