March, 29th's tourney only has ~24 players entered. Top 16 get prizes. But most players barely have silver-level cards! Rent some for a day and win.

Huge chances of earning

If you make it to round 2, you already have a very strong chance of winning, because often these tournaments won't reach 32 players. Even if they do, getting to round 3 is possible. You could even get a bye in the qualifier!

Meet the players

I've made a player cheatsheet for myself beforehand and I'm going to share this information with you all so you can understand how much of a chance we all have here.

The average opponent

Most people in this tournament only have lv3 summoners. I'm playing it myself this time. Only people actually have a strong gold alpha collection (goodasgold, tendershepard/aggroed,randolphrope, jaki01, clove71). If you don't end up playing against one of these too soon, you could get into the top 16 even with just one lv3 summoner!

There are a few oddballs like showmethequan who has a lv6 water summoner and mattclarke who only has a lv6 earth summoner. But even then you might get lucky. If their strong splinters are disabled while dueling with you, you can win.

The account felipejoys.neoxa (not played by me) only has one summoner: lv7 life. If there is no life splinter for two rounds, they're out. And if you're lucky enough, you go against mesrag, who literally only has 1 random monster of each splinter, so it's a free win.

Everyone else from the 20+ player list only uses lv3 summoners!

My set up

I'm going in with two lv3 summoners I got from personally asking their owners to lease me just for a few hours. Since I won't use them in ranked, they won't get on cooldown, so no worries. After renting some monsters from https://peakmonsters.com I was all set.

All in all I spent around 20~30 cents renting. That's because I chose delegations with low daily fees and low/zero escrow fees so I can break the contract right after the tournament, so there will be no need to keep paying for no reason.

Post-tourney edit

I went up against jaki01's alt, kobold-djawa. I won the first round because the alt only had fire splinter on it and that was disabled. On the second round, jaki01 had moved high level death splinter cards into kobold-djawa because fire splinter wasn't available. Because of that, he easily beat me. On the third round he went with his silver-level fire splinter.

That's when I could have won if I had chosen flesh golem, but I went with rexxie because I thought rexxie was my best monster against the higher level haunted spirit he had just used. It would have been better if I waited and tried to see what cards were delegated near the end of the time limit.
