I welcome you to splinterlands, one of the most earliest and most successful NFT game and thanks for visiting my article. Now-a-days, the whole world is going crazy after NFTs but let me tell you that Splinterlands is one of the earliest and mightiest strategy based NFT card game that has proved its worth in this NFT explosion as well. All the splinterlands warriors out there, I hope you are enjoying this fantastic game and sharing experience with your friends and family!

Weather it's ranked matches with other individuals or tournaments or brawl, the competition among us SL players are rising day after day to next level because of so many different types of cards available to choose from. Moreover, there are a good number of strong players investing and playing to the game than it used to be. So the heat has increased a lot lately and you gotta increase your card hodling over time to match things up!

Anyways, the current season has just ended and sadly I did not do well in this season with all the 3 accounts that I am currently playing. I reached Diamond league leaderboard with all 3 accounts mango-juice, red-dog and ts-panda and won 20k, 20k and 10k dec respectively. The season rewards were better as of last season but I am still happy with what I got. No more untamed packs from reward chests but I got a legendary and epic so I am happy.

Now, let us talk about today's social post, I took some time and thought deeply of which monster I should use today as my today's social post. Then I called up a brand new addition to my mango-juice account, the common neutral monster SAND WORM in my max level collection recently, so without having a second thought, let the SAND WORM secure his place in my weekly curation post!

SAND WORM is from the newest reward edition cards which costs 9 mana and is very usable in high mana melee friendly matches where it is available to select, especially when you want to kill your opponent's monsters at the backside with a big blow of an unavoidable melee attack and with sneak, Piercing and Snare ability. Costing 9 mana, this new reward monster has 7 melee attack with 3 awesome abilities as mentioned above which makes him into a fierce killing machine which can kill monsters back to back even in one shot sometimes before going down. Moreover, because of the snare ability, even flying monsters cant evade his attacks and on the other hand, shielded beasts are also helpless against it because of it's piercing shots. So, If you really want a defensive beast at the reach position that can kill down some the enemy monsters easily with its high magic attacks and astonishing abilities, SAND WORM can be your true companion!

Ok so, before moving on, let us see what is being written in the book of Splinterlore for him.

Huge Sand Worms have always lived in the desert of Draykh-Nahka, but with the recent uncovering of the various Untamed Prophecies, they have mysteriously grown even larger. They have also become more wild and free, somehow discovering how to escape from the Sands of the Dragon Splinter. Although it has never been witnessed, biologists believe that the Worms have learned how to swim. If they have indeed learned to burrow through water like sand, the Splinterlands will suffer greatly from their proliferation. In Mount Mox battle, Sand Worms can swallow monsters of nearly any size with no need to chew. They can even snatch fliers directly from the air, extending out of the ground even higher than the arena walls.

For this reward edition card, Right now there are currently 1 max SAND WORM available at the market at 100$ (total 105,585.471 DEC, 0.25$ per bcx).
Some high level cards are there at good price.
The single ones are available starting at 0.17$ and will cost you 183.719 DEC as per the current rate.

What SAND WORM is actually capable of?

Level 1 - In its initial level, it carries 5 melee attack with 5 health and 1 speed. It brings the sneak ability at the initial level with it.
Level 4 - At level 4, it carries 6 melee attack at 6 health and 2 speed.
Level 7 - At the 7th level, It possesses 6 melee attack with 7 health at 3 speed. It also gets snare ability at level 6.
Level 10 - At the maximum level, It possesses 7 melee attack with 7 health at 4 speed. It also gets Piercing at level 10.

Ruleset So, It was a double ruleset as below...

- Target Practice attack the first non melee monster that is not in first position.

- Blast Every monster gets blast ability.

Well, It's a large bag of 42 mana match this time and I am thinking to go for the Epic Dragon summoner Daria Dragonscale. Because it's a Target Practice and Blast rule set match, this rule set is favoring melee monsters. Though it a 42 mana match with other options available, I can definitely use the Sand Worm at the middle position this time to form a decent defense to cope with things up!

`SEA MONSTER`

I chose SEA MONSTER in the first place because of its high health + attack with variety of abilities - Heal and Thorns ability. I have a level 8 and it has 5 melee attack at 3 speed and 10 health.

`CORNEALUS`

I chose CORNEALUS in the second place because of its 10 mana cost and healing, thorns and return fire ability. I have a level 3 and it has 3 range attack at 3 speed and 12 health.

`ELVEN CUTTHROAT`

I chose the ELVEN CUTTHROAT in the third place because of its small 3 mana cost that comes with devastating melee attack with sneak ability. I have a level 8 and it has 3 melee attack at 5 speed, 4 health. This is Mainly to give our backline enemy cards a big bit of damage via direct melee attacks.

`SAND WORM`

I chose the SAND WORM in the fourth place because of its big powered melee attack with sneak and snare ability. I have a level 8 and it has 6 melee attack at 4 speed and 7 health. This is Mainly to give our backline enemies a bit of devastating damage.

`SABRE SHARK`

I chose SABRE SHARK in the fifth place because of its 3 mana cost, 3 melee attack with sneak ability. I have a level 8 and it has sneak attack at 5 speed and 5 health.

`TORTISIAN CHIEF`

I chose the TORTISIAN CHIEF in the last place because of its 5 mana cost and decent magic attack with healing ability. I have a level 5 and it has 2 magic attack at 3 speed and 6 health. This is Mainly to give our front defense a little bit of healing.

Battle Result

Let us now take a leap of faith straight into the gameplay.

Well, it was an exciting and a unpredictable large mana match and friends, the match was full of medium and big mana monsters as my opponent used a maxx level water summoner Alric Stormbringer against me! My opponent was having some maxx level water and neutral cards and his line up was just great! Let's look down to the match!

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...

My opponent @jesterinvestor used water summoner Alric Sormbringer against me.
At the front position, he used the Cube Level 8. He definitely chose an undying defensive beast as tanker due to this large mana ruleset to his front and I just hope I get able to kill this undying tank beast with my warriors.
At the second position, he puts the sea ginie lev 8.
At the third he used MISCHIEVOUS MERMAID lev 5.
At the fourth position, he puts Ruler of the Seas level 1.
At the fifth position, he puts Prismatic energy level 6.
At the sixth position, he puts Captain's ghost level 6.

As you can watch from the battle, the opponent's line up was fully focused to attack on my first position. while at the front, the Cube was defending with Scavenger and Healing ability, followed by the sea genie who was helping with their dangerous attacks with flying and strengthen abilities. The second ability gave all of them monsters some extra health bar each. The Ruler and Prismatic energy was attacking from the back with their high magic attacks and the captain's ghost was protecting the back.

Really,the true hero of this battle is the sand worm who really stood long and launched multiple deadly sneak melee attacks upon the enemy monsters and helped me win this match. In this following match, I have chosen a good front defense because the Sea Monster who really stood up for quite some time and helped me me distracting the opponent with his Healing and Thorns ability while my other monsters were attacking and killing the opponent enemies. I did a good move by choosing the Tortisian Chef in last and Elvin Cutthroat and Sabre Shark sneak dual for their back to back sneak attacks. Together they have dealt a great damage upon my enemies.
