Playing with THE VIGILATOR : the deadliest arthropod in splinterlands

Hey brave players!
I welcome you to the amazing splinterlands, one of the most earliest and successful collectible NFT game I have seen so far. Nowadays, the whole crypto world is going crazy after NFTs, even in these bear market, splinterlands is rising without facing any issue so far. Its really happy to see that people showing better and better engagement with Splinterlands, which is one of the earliest and mightiest strategy based NFT card game that has proved its worth in this NFT explosion as well. All the splinterlands warriors out there, I hope you are enjoying this fantastic game and sharing experience with your friends and family!

The current season has coming to an end and only 2 days left for this season so I am trying my best to reach the leaderboard. In the last season, sadly I did not do very well in this season with all the 3 accounts that I am currently playing. I reached Diamond league leaderboard with all 3 accounts mango-juice, red-dog and ts-panda and won 20k, 20k and 10k dec respectively. The season rewards were better than the previous season but I am still happy with what I got. No more untamed packs from reward chests now, but they are giving 2000 dec as replacement and I also got a legendary and epic so I am very happy. Let's see what this season has to offer me. :)

Now, let us talk about today's social post, I took some time and thought deeply of which monster I should use today as my today's social post. Then I called up a brand new addition to the ts-panda account, the legendary draggon monster THE VIGILATOR in the max level collection recently, so without having a second thought, let the THE VIGILATOR secure his place in my weekly curation post!

THE VIGILATOR is from the newest untamed edition cards which costs 9 mana and is very usable in high mana melee or archer friendly matches where it is available to select, especially when you want to kill your opponent's monsters with a double blow of melee + ranged attack and with double strike, Thorns and Poison ability. Costing 9 mana, this new untamed monster has 3 melee and 2 range attack with 3 awesome abilities as mentioned above which makes him into a double attacking killing machine which can kill monsters with it;'s repeating melee + range shots. Moreover, because of the poison ability, it can bring more damage to the enemy monsters and on the other hand, melee beasts also get weak against it because of it's Thorns. So, If you really want a high powered beast at the middle or rear position that can kill down some the enemy monsters easily with its high melee+range combo attacks and astonishing abilities, THE VIGILATOR can be your true companion!

Ok so, before moving on, let us see what is being written in the book of Splinterlore for him.

Vigilators are arthropods that live just beneath the surface of the Sands in Draykh-Nahka. When prey wanders above one, a Vigilator is able to cause a controlled cave-in of the surrounding sand. It then quickly consumes its prey, using its multiple pincers and gnashing tooth-blades. No Vigilator has ever been recovered from the sand, so ideas of what they look like are mostly guesses.

• For this reward edition card, Right now there are currently 1 max VIGILATOR available at the market at 65.54$ (total 67,208.778 DEC, 5.96$ per bcx).

• The single ones are available starting at 6.20$ and will cost you 6,357.670 DEC as per the current rate.

• Level 1 - In its initial level, it carries 2 melee and 1 range attack with 8 health and 4 speed. It brings the double strike ability at the initial level with it.
• Level 2 - At level 2, it carries 3 melee and 1 range attack at 8 health and 4 speed. It also gets Thorns ability at level 2.
• Level 3 - At the 3rd level, It possesses 3 melee and 1 range attack with 8 health at 4 speed. It also gets poison ability at level 3.
• Level 4 - At the maximum level, It possesses 3 melee and 2 range attack with 8 health at 4 speed. It also gets Piercing at level 10.

Well, It's a large bag of 99 mana match this time and I am thinking to go for the brand new Dragon summoner Byzantine Kitty. Because it's a Super Sneak and Healed out ruleset match, this rule set is favoring melee monsters surely. Though it a big 99 mana match with many other options available, I can definitely use the Vigilator at the middle position this time to form a heavy defense to cope with things up!

Line-Up

Magnor

I chose Magnor in the first place because of its high health + attack with variety of abilities - Taunt, Return fire, Trample and Enrage ability. I have a level 4 and it has 6 melee attack at 3 speed and 15 health.

CALADUUM

I chose CALADUUM in the second place because of its 11 mana cost with Void, Cripple, thorns and Immune ability. I have a level 4 and it has 3 magic attack at 1 speed, 4 armour and 11 health.

WAR CHAANG

I chose the WAR CHAANG in the third place because of its 7 mana cost that comes with devastating melee+range attack with Trample and Retaliate ability. I have a level 6 and it has 3 melee + 2 range attack at 4 speed and 8 health. This is Mainly to give our backline cards a big bit of support as this monster, when in first position, will act as frontal deence.

THE VIGILATOR

I chose the THE VIGILATOR in the fourth place because of its big powered melee+ranged attack with Double strike, thorns and poison ability. I have a level 4 and it has 3 melee + 2 ranged attack at 4 speed and 8 health. This is Mainly to give our enemies a bit of devastating damage.

DRAGON JUMPER

I chose DRAGON JUMPER in the fifth place because of its 7 mana cost, 5 melee attack with opportunity, flying and snare ability. I have a level 4 and it has 5 melee attack at 5 speed and 7 health.

DIAMOND DRAGON

I chose the DIAMOND DRAGON in the last place because of its 10 mana cost and decent magic attack with flying, slow, Cleanse and Last Stand ability. I have a level 4 and it has 3 magic attack at 3 speed, 10 armour and 7 health. This is Mainly to give a good rear defence and a good chance to activate it's last stand ability if other die.

Battle Result

Let us now take a leap of faith straight into the gameplay.

Well, it was an exciting and a unpredictable 99 mana match and friends, the match was full of big mana monsters as my opponent used a maxx level dragon summoner Daria Dragonscale against me! My opponent was having some maxx and high level death and neutral cards and his line up was just great! Let's look down to the match!

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...

• My opponent @runotentertained used dragon summoner Daria Dragonscale against me.
• At the front position, he used the Cube Level 10. He definitely chose an undying defensive beast as tanker due to this large mana ruleset to his front and I just hope I get able to kill this undying tank beast with my warriors.
• At the second position, he puts the almo cambio lev 1.
• At the third he used Hunted Spirit lev 6.
• At the fourth position, he puts Undead Rexx level 7.
• At the fifth position, he puts Robo Dragon Knight level 1.
• At the sixth position, he puts Octopider level 7.

As you can watch from the battle, the opponent's line up was fully packed up with big melee monsters. while at the front, the Cube was defending with Scavenger and void ability, followed by the almo cambio who was helping with his big health bar with immunity ability. The hunted spirit and undead rexx was attacking from the middle with their high melee attacks and the octopider was protecting the back.

Really,the true hero of this battle is the vigilator who really stood long and launched multiple deadly melee+ranged combo attacks upon the enemy monsters and helped me win this match. In this following match, I have chosen a good front defense because the magnor who really stood up for quite some time and helped me me distracting the opponent with his taunt and return fire ability while my other monsters were attacking and killing the opponent enemies. I did a good move by choosing the diamond dragon in last and dragon jumper and war chaang dual for their back to back attacks. Together they have dealt a great damage upon my enemies.
