Splinterlands - Obessions Not Related to Battling (Weekly Post)
Since I play Splinterlands daily and able to use my dark energy % bar from 100% to 80% within an hour I have a lot of time on my hand to do other things. Of course there is work and kids to take care of, but still I have time to do other things. Sometimes the other things I do are related to the game but not actually playing it. I spend more time outside of the game rather than actually play the game. What I mean by that is doing things that is related to Splinterlands but not actually playing the game. As it would not benefit more if I spend entire day draining my DEC bar energy as it takes a day to recharge 20%. Or is it beneficial to play practice matches as they contribute nothing to my overall earnings. The following list are things I do outside the game of Splinterland when I do not play the game. Enjoy!
Splintertalk.io
Most of my spare time I blog a bit and curate other blog posts. One platform that I often go to curate is the splintertalk.io a portal that uses hive blockchain as its back end while blog posts having tags "spt" or "splinterlands" get listed on the platform.
What is good about the platform is I get to learn a lot with what people write about that is related to Splinterlands. Whether I am reading blog posts on other people's battles or statistics related to Splinterlands it all benefits me in understanding how to play better and earn more in the game. In addition there are plenty of giveaways and tokens to earn. For instance the token in splintertalk.io is the SPT token. I have a goal set to earn 10k SPT a month and hope to cross 120k SPT in a year. There are rumors that future use of SPT will related to the land expansion once that is up and running so I curate to earn as many SPT as I can.
Monstermarket and Card Auctionz
Two go to sites for me in purchasing cards and determining value of cards is monstermarket.io and cardauctionz. Both platforms have the benefits for purchasing Spliterlands Cards but the best part is both give buyers cash back for their purchases. By default the in game card purchases in Splinterlands require buyers to pay 5% fee to Splinterlands. The two third party sites which is separate from in game but directly on the hive blockchain would also impose a fee but rather than 5% it is 2%. Thereby when users go on either website to purchase cards they pay less on the cards as the sites reimburse buyers 3% of the total price.
I go on these sites daily to find deals or wait when deals pop up. I spend likely the most time out of an entire day where I have spare time to devote to Splinterlands because it is always fun to find a great Splinterlands Card deal. In addition cardauctionz has an auction web page for users to bid on cards using their website's CAC token that is equivalent to 1 DEC per 1 CAC. The bids spend is basically spending DEC but to win an auction would mean to purchase that card at the winning bid price. Sometimes I sit until the time for an auction is close to expiring and try my luck bidding for it.

Twitch channels with a lot of activity with their viewers happens weekly and sometimes several times a week. Entertaining and a lot of giveaways. Great way to visualize and learn about Splitnerlands and meet some of the most active players in the game.
Trading - Buying and Selling
Some time I also trade for DEC or flip DEC for Hive. There are also other tokens related to the game that I trade for such as land plots, out of print booster packs such as Alpha & Beta, Dice and Untamed booster packs, totem tokens, and of course some SPT.

I'm really curious what plans they have for Splintertalk. I like the idea of the platform, but it seems like it was largely left outside of the Splinterlands ecosystem up to now.
