TOO HOT TO HANDLE

🃏 CARD PLACEMENT🃏

The Exploding Dwarf has a few positions depending on the rule set.
If the rule set is equality, then your dwarf should be played in the first position as a tank as his health will be the same as everyone else’s.
If the rule set is melee mayhem, then you should play him in the third to forth position this will protect him from both the tank and sneak attacks. Unfortunately it will not protect you from snipe or opportunity though.
And lastly if the rule set is super sneak then the Exploding Dwarf should be played in the second position, just behind your tank . As we can assume the enemy will be looking to sneak attack you.
There are other places as well but this is where I normally use him and it pays off most of the time.

🃏 CARD SELECTION 🃏

Summoner: Pyre

  • Whilst I like Malric , the speed boost I get from Pyre just seams to work better sometime then the extra attack. Especially when you have High hitting cards with low health. That is why I chose Pyre here.

First slot: Cerberus

  • The Cerberus with it’s heal and 3 melee attack can prove a strong tank in low mana games. However in high mana games the big hitters like the Goblin Mech or hard hitting range and magic cards make short work of it. In this battle we had 19 mana and Super sneak so I felt safe to play it.

Second slot: Exploding Dwarf

  • You want your Exploding Dwarf to hit , but avoid being hot. As it only has 1 health. With one of the rules set as Super sneak, I anticipated that my opponent would focus on hitting my back line. To give my Exploding Dwarf as much defence as possible I put him is the second slot.

Third slot: Kobold Miner

  • For only 2 mana, the Kobold Miner with 2 melee attack is the perfect card to play in low mana games. I placed it here to help defend the Exploding Dwarf.

Forth slot: Serpentine Spy

  • At only three mana the Serpentine Spy with it’s opportunity is a must have. The down side is it only has 2 health and that makes it a target for other opportunity cards. I chose it here for its low mana and 2 melee attack.

Fifth slot: Cockatrice

  • The Cockatrice is not the hardest hitting card but it is fast and that can keep it alive longer . That is why I chose it here, to buy time for my Exploding Dwarf.

Sixth slot: Furious Chicken

  • Where would we be without our Furious Chicken . I have won countless games due to buffer this card gives my team. At zero mana it was a no brainer to place that in the last slot.

LOOKING BACK

We won and this is always the result we are after. However there is always room for improvement. The only thing I would have done differently is switched the Kobold Miner and the Serpentine Spy. As the Kobold Miner would have been able to defend the Serpentine Spy and keeping us hitting harder longer.
