Greetings and good Friday battle to all! Yesterday we lived the end of the first battle season of the two we are having in the April month. Until now I hadn't paid much attention to the league ranking, but this time I focused the last days on trying to get into the top 30 to get a couple of extra Untamed booster packs. There was a moment when I was close, just a few points away from reaching 32nd place... but, bummer, I had a couple of last minute defeats in tough fights that reduced my score and took me away from the target.

Finally I reached 37th place, just over a hundred points short of the target. Bearing in mind that from 2800 points onwards, the points are achieved more slowly (about 3 or 4 points per victory; plus or minus 20 points per defeat), the result is not bad at all. And it gets tough in the last stretch; moreover, seeing that in the previous season I finished in 89th place playing practically the same cards... well... not bad at all! Now I hesitate between playing the whole season in the silver league (and trying to get a podium there), or trying again in gold; where it will be more difficult, as my summoners are all at level 4, of Rare rarity. Where some summoners can reach up to level 6, with their consequent cohort of monsters more powerful than mine, especially when fighting for the top positions.

But let's leave that here and get down to business: Share your Battle. This week's proposal is to talk about Naga Fire Wizard, a card from the red (fire) deck Reward edition, which I certainly never use. It's not for nothing in particular, in fact I think it's not a bad card. Melee resistance ability, magic attack... but I don't use it, I use others.

So I'm going to tell you about another card from the same deck, this one from the Untamed edition. A card that in my opinion is perhaps one of the best cards to play with red: Serpentine Spy.

I don't really use this card much either because I play the red deck at level 1 (while in other decks I have common rarity cards up to level 5). But it's a card I particularly like, I think it's very useful and when ever the combat rules "force" me to play with red, you can be sure I'll choose the Serpentine to try to "make a splash". Common rarity and melee attack, it's a fast card for its level; plus, you can boost its attack with the red Beta Summoner (Marlic Inferno; +1 melee attack) and it only spends 3 mana to enter combat. Though best of all is the ability it enjoys right from the start: Opportunity. One of the best skills in the game, which makes the card that possesses it attack mercilessly to any opponent's card, no matter where it is; and it also does it towards the opponent with less life points at any time.

Today, curiously, I used the red deck with the cards at level 1 in the first fight of the day. I saw that my opponent would also come with cards at level 1, so it was a good opportunity to enjoy Serpentine Spy.... Let's see the match:

A few quick hits, a good defence in the back against well-prevented Sneakers, Serpentine finishing off the dying, and some miss from the opponent decided a fight that seemed more evenly matched than it ended up being. I don't know, maybe I'll end up renting some higher level cards for the red deck so I can enjoy the lethality of the elusive Serpentine Spy more often... What would you do?
