    • Description, Statistics and Abilities.
  • Cost, Levels and Evaluations
    • Level Considerations
  • A battle of mine with Mitica Headhunter
    • My battle formation.

    • Considerations about Mitica Headhunter

Card: Mitica Headhunter

image.png

Description, Stats, and Abilities

Mythical Headhunter is a card that is part of the Untamed collection.

It is an Epic card and is a card of the Earth element.

Mitica Headhunter of level 1 has the following statistics:

  • It has a high mana cost (8).
  • Has 4 ranged attack points
  • Has 5 life points and has no armor points.
  • Has a high speed (5).
  • Has an ability: Snare (level 1)

image.png

Cards that have the Snare ability when attacking an opponent's card that has the Flying ability remove the Flying ability.

Cost, Levels, and Ratings

The lowest cost of Mitica Headhunter (Level 1) on the market is $0.62 (Jan 5, 2021)

image.png

In the following image you can see the complete statistics

image.png

Considerations about levels

Level 4

The level that in my opinion has the best benefit/price ratio is level 4.
To reach level 4 you need 20 cards to combine and the total cost is $12,4.
At level 4 Mitica Headhunter gains a new ability: Piercing.

image.png
.

With the Piercing skill, Mitica Headhunter is able to subtract both armor points and life points of the opposing card in the same hit if the armor points of the attacked card are lower than Mitica Headhunter's attack points.

Compared to level 1 increase attack points of a unit (4->5) and increase life points of a unit (5->6)

Max level (Level 6)

To reach max level (the 8th) you need 46 cards to combine and the total cost is 28.52$.
When Mitica Headhunter reaches level 6 it acquires a third ability: Shatter.

image.png
.

Cards that have the Shatter ability are able to destroy all the armor points of the card they attacked.

Now let's see how Mythic Headhunter behaves on the Battlefield.

A battle of mine with Mythic Headhunter

In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to meet:

image.png

  • Taking Sides: Cards of the neutral element cannot be used.
  • Mana Cap: 30.
  • Useable Summoners: Only summoners of the elements can be used: Fire, Earth, Life, and Dragon.

My Battle Formation

The maximum number of cards that can be deployed in battle is 7 ( 1 summoner + 6 monsters)

I chose to deploy 6 cards (in order of position):

Flesh Golem - Screeching Vulture - Mushroom Seer - Magi of the Forest - Khmer Princess - Mitica Headhunter

Xander Foxwood (Summoner)

First Position

- Flesh Golem (Level 4) -

image.png

Why did I choose Flesh Golem (Level 4)?

Flesh Golem is a card I often use in first position when the battle or daily mission requires me to use the Earth element.
It costs little in terms of mana, has a good number of life points (9), has a good attack (3) and above all has the ability Heal that allows you to recover two life points each round of the battle.

Using it in combination with the Khmer Princess card that has the Tank Heal ability makes it even more difficult for my opponent to eliminate Flesh Golem because for each round of the battle the recovery of life points increases to 4.

Second Position

- Screeching Vulture (Level 6) -

image.png

Why I chose Screeching Vulture (Level 6)?

Screeching Vulture is another card I use often because it only costs 3 mana points and has great stats and abilities.
My Screeching Vulture is Level 6 and has three abilities.
The Flying ability allows you to have a higher chance of avoiding one or more attacks.
The Opportunity ability allows you to direct attacks towards the weakest opponent card.
The Scavenger ability increases a unit's life points each time a card (either opponent or friend) is eliminated.

I usually place Screeching Vulture in third or fourth position because it has few life points but in this case I chose the second position because I wanted to protect the next cards that have a magic attack that is much more useful than the melee attack.

Third Position

Mushroom Seer (Level 5).

image.png

Why did I choose Mushroom Seer (Level 5)?

I chose Mushroom Seer because it has two great abilities: Silence and Poison.

image.png
.

It has a good magic attack (2) but doesn't have much life, so I chose to protect it by deploying it in third position.

Fourth position

Magi of the Forest (Level 3).

image.png

Why did I choose Magi of the Forest (Level 3)?

Magi of the Forest is a great card even though it has no abilities.
It only costs 4 mana and has a 3 point magic attack.
I always place Magi of the Forest in the middle positions to protect it since it only has 4 life and its attack is important to win the battle.

Fifth position

Khmer Princess (Level 4).

image.png

Why did I choose Khmer Princess (Level 4)?

Khmer Princess is the card I pretty much always use with the Earth element.
It has the Tank Heal ability that allows the card in first position to recover two life points each round of the battle.
It only costs two points of Mana.
A card I recommend all players have in their collection and upgrade to at least level 4.

Sixth position

Mitica Headhunter (Level 1)

image.png

Why I chose Mitica Headhunter?

I chose Mitica Headhunter because it is the star of this week's Splinterlands contest.
It is a good card because it has a strong attack (4) and a high speed (5) thanks to which it has a high probability of avoiding one or more attacks.
Its weaknesses are:

  • high cost in terms of mana (8)
  • low life points (5).

Its characteristics make it a good choice to deploy in last or penultimate position.

Summoner

The summoner I chose is Xander Foxwood - Level 4.

image.png

It is the summoner of the element earth that I use more because compared to other summoners of the same element that I have allows me to deploy cards with the highest level.
It has no abilities but only costs two points of Mana.

Final Considerations

Battle Considerations

My opponent starts with a relative advantage in life points.
I have 28 total life points while my opponent has 38 life points.
I have a slight advantage in total attack points.
I have 13 total attack points while my opponent has 12 total attack points.
The main difference is that I chose to focus on cards with magic attack while my opponent decided to focus mainly on cards with ranged attack .

image.png

At the beginning of Round 2 my opponent loses his Flesh Golem thanks mainly to the attacks of Mitica Headhunter and the effect of Mushroom Seer's Poison ability.

image.png

My Flesh Golem also fails to make it to Round 3 but at the start of Round 3 my advantage is great.
My opponent is left with only 3 cards that have ranged attack and since cards with ranged attack cannot attack from the first position he is basically left with only 4 attack points.

image.png

The battle ends during Round 4 with my victory.

image.png

image.png

Mitica Headhunter Considerations

Mitica Headhunter is a good card that is useful as early as level 1.
It's especially useful for those with low level summoners, and thus for all players playing in the early leagues of Splinterlands.

I do not use it much because it has a high cost in terms of mana and I often prefer to play Javelin Thrower (level 4) that even if it has a point of attack less than Mitica Headhunter allows me to save 3 points of mana.

In general Mitica Headhunter is a good card to deploy in the last positions.

According to my point of view the usefulness in battle of Mitica Headhunter card increases when the rules of battle are:

  • Close to Range
  • Equalizer
  • Taking Sides
  • Lost Magic
  • Back to Basics

With this post I participate in the weekly Splinterlands contest entitled "Share Your Battle".

Flesh Golem - Screeching Vulture - Mushroom Seer - Magi of the Forest - Khmer Princess - Mitica Headhunter

Xander Foxwood (Evocatore)

Prima posizione

- Flesh Golem (Livello 4) -

image.png

Quarta posizione

Magi of the Forest (Livello 3).

image.png

Perchè ho scelto Magi of the Forest (Livello 3)?

image.png

All'inizio del Round 2 il mio avversario perde il suo Flesh Golem grazie soprattutto agli attacchi di Mitica Headhunter e all'effetto dell'abilità Poison di Mushroom Seer.

image.png

  • Close to Range
  • Equalizer
  • Taking Sides
  • Lost Magic
  • Back to Basics
