Today is November 25, 2021, and a few hours ago the pre-sale of the Chaos Legion collection card packs ended.

After personal calculations and reasoning I chose not to participate in the pre-sale, I sold all the VOUCHER tokens I received from airdrop and from the sale I got a total of 1439.23 SWAP.HIVE.

I will invest all of the proceeds I received from the sale of the VOUCHER tokens to purchase Chaos Legion card packs when the VOUCHER tokens have a much lower purchase price than now or when they are no longer needed.

If when I purchase the Chaos Legion packs the value of 1 HIVE is what it is today with 1439.23 SWAP.HIVE I will be able to purchase 658 packs of Chaos Legion cards.

Obviously I hope that the value of HIVE grows more and more because in my humble opinion HIVE should be worth much more for all that Hive's blockchain offers.

Even if I didn't participate to the presale I'm glad to see that the presale went very well because 776687 packs of Chaos Legion cards have been purchased, 77.6% of the one million packs of cards available for purchase.

Card packs purchased during the pre-sale will be able to be opened starting December 8, 2021, so in just under 13 days there will be many new cards in the Splinterlands battlegrounds and there will be many new cards for sale in the Splinterlands marketplace.

Considering the number of packs purchased and the bonus packs there will be 884898 packs of cards that can be opened.
884898 packs of cards = 4424490 cards.

Hardly all card packs will be opened on December 8 because those who have purchased card packs will have several options to choose from:

  • open the packs
  • keep the packs in view of a future profit
  • not to open the packs waiting to accumulate a sufficient number of alchemical and legendary potions from the daily quests

If only 30% of the purchased packs are opened, there will be 1327347 cards from the Chaos Legion collection available for battle, sale or rent.

The introduction of so many new cards in the dynamics of the game of Splinterlands could lead to a decrease in the value of cards of previous collections and this decrease could affect especially the cards less useful in battle and less demanded on the rental and sale market.

Mine is only a prediction that could turn out to be wrong but for this reason and before December 8 I will try to sell all the cards I have in my collection of cards that

  • I don't use in battle or I rarely use
  • are not in great demand on the market of sale and rental.

Differently from my previous posts about the optimization of my card collection where I have always shared my buying goals and selling goals, in this post I will share only my selling choices and the considerations that led me to decide to sell a certain card rather than another.

Right now my priority is to sell all the cards that I consider not very useful in battle.

The battle usefulness of a card

Splinterlands is a fun strategy game because each battle is always different from every other because each battle has one or two battle rules to follow and these rules change with each battle.

There are cards, such as some legendary cards, that have very strong battle stats and therefore play well even with different battle rules.
There are other cards whose usefulness in battle depends a lot on the battle rules and also on the summoner cards they are used with.

Choosing cards according to the battle rules and the summoner card they will be used with is always important to win a battle

Battle rules are important, but the two elements that most determine a card's usefulness in battle are:

  • the level and ability of the summoner card a card is used with.
  • The ability(s) a card gains when it reaches a certain level.

A card useful for me could be not so useful for another player and vice versa.

For example, one of the last cards I upgraded is the Albatross card.

The Albatross card is one of the clearest and most explanatory examples of how a Splinterlands card can be of little use at early levels and very useful when it reaches a certain level.

In fact, Level 1 Albatross is an expendable card in battle and is only useful to protect stronger and more functional cards to achieve victory in battle.
Level 6 Albatross becomes very useful in battle because it acquires the Heal ability and is the only card in Splinterlands that costs only one mana point to have this ability.

My sales goals

The Sea Genie card

In my card collection I have 4 Sea Genie cards:

  • 1 card of level 4 (combination of 12 cards of level 1)
  • 1 card of level 3 (combination of 5 cards of level 1)
  • 2 level 1 cards

The lowest single Sea Genie card price on the market is $5.00 (Sea Genie level 1)

The lowest price for BCX is $0.84 - Sea Genie level 10 (result of combining 505 level 1 cards).

I have decided to sell all of my Sea Genie cards and below I will explain my reasons.

The reasons for selling

Reason #1: I have better alternatives in my collection.

Sea Genie is a good card especially when used with a summoner who has the ability to increase magic attack points such as Alric Stormbringher.
But for me it is a card not very useful in battle and in fact I almost never use it because I have cards that have better battle statistics than Sea Genie such as Medusa (level 5) or Tortisian Chief (level 4).
In the following image you can see all the alternatives to Sea Genie that I have in my card collection and you can easily understand why I don't use it in battle.

Reason #2: The profit you can get from renting is relatively low.

Before selling a card I always check the value I can get from the rental.

Thanks to the useful site PeakMonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/) I can quickly check the current rental price of the Sea Genie card.

The lowest rental price on the market for Sea Genie level 4 is 1,250 DEC/day.

Any passive income is always a good income to receive but Sea Genie's current rental prices are not an obstacle to my decision to sell.

The Tortisian Fighter card

The other card I would like to sell is Tortisian Fighter.

I have 19 Tortisian Fighter cards in my card collection all of level 1.

The lowest single Tortisian Fighter card price on the market is $0.85 (Level 1 Tortisian Fighter) and this is also the lowest price per BCX on the market.

The reasons for the sale

Reason #1: I have better alternatives in my collection.

Tortisian Fighter has two strengths:

  • 2 points of attack already starting at level 1
  • Low mana cost: 4 points of Mana.

But it has a big defect: it can attack only from the first position.

In the following image then see all the alternatives to the Tortisian Fighter card that I have in my collection.

Reason #2: The profit that can be made from renting is relatively low.

The lowest rental price on the market for level 1 Tortisian Fighter is 3,850 DEC/day.

The same considerations made previously for the Sea Genie card also apply to Tortisian Fighter.

The Giant Squid card

The other card I would like to sell is Giant Squid.

In my card collection I have 8 Giant Squid cards all level 1.

The lowest single Giant Squid card price on the market is $2.39 (level 1 Giant Squid) and this is also the lowest price per BCX on the market.

Reasons for selling

Reason #1: I have better alternatives in my collection.

Giant Squid level 1 is a good card because it has:

  • 2 ranged attack points already starting at level 1
  • 4 life points and 1 armor point.

Giant Squid level 1 is a card that plays well in the early leagues but not in the more advanced leagues (Gold+).
Among other things it has a good market value but I'm not interested in upgrading it because I have better alternatives in my collection.

In the following image you can see all the alternatives to the Giant Squid card that I have in my collection such as Water Elemental level 3.

Also there is a Water Elemental card that has similar stats to Giant Squid but has abilities that make it much more useful in battle than Giant Squid and also has a lower cost per card: Sniping Narwhal.

Reason #2: The profit achievable from rental is relatively low.

The lowest rental price on the market for level 1 Giant Squid is 0.100 DEC/day.

The price on the market for Giant Squid card rental is really low, so I will proceed with the sale with confidence.

Conclusion

I have put the Sea Genie, Tortisian Fighter and Giant Squid cards up for sale at the lowest price on the market based on their level.

If I sell all the cards I put up for sale I will get a value of $103.42.

If I manage to sell all the cards I have put up for sale I will buy more cards but since I'm in more of a hurry to sell than to buy I will use the buying mode that PeakMonsters offers me: bidding (BID).

Oggi è il 25 novembre 2021 e da poche ore è terminata la prevendita dei pacchi di carte della collezione Chaos Legion.

Io dopo personali calcoli e ragionamenti ho scelto di non partecipare alla prevendita, ho venduto tutti i token VOUCHER che ho ricevuto dall'airdrop e dalla vendita ho ottenuto un totale di 1439.23 SWAP.HIVE.

Investirò tutto il ricavato che ho ottenuto dalla vendita dei token VOUCHER per acquistare i pacchi di carte Chaos Legion quando i token VOUCHER avranno un prezzo di acquisto molto più basso di adesso.

Se quando acquisterò i pacchi di carte Chaso Legion il valore di 1 HIVE sarà quello di oggi con 1439.23 SWAP.HIVE potrò acquistare 658 pacchi di carte Chaos Legion.

Ovviamente spero che il valore di HIVE cresca sempre di più perchè secondo la mia modesta opinione HIVE dovrebbe valere molto di più per tutto quello che offre la blockchain di Hive.

Anche se non ho partecipato alla prevendita sono contento di vedere che la prevendita è andata molto bene perchè sono stati acquistati 776687 pacchi di carte Chaos Legion, il 77.6% del milione di pacchi di carte disponibili all'acquisto.

I pacchi di carte acquistati durante la prevendita potranno essere aperti a partire dal giorno 8 dicembre 2021 e quindi fra poco meno di 13 giorni ci saranno molte nuove carte nei campi di battaglia di Splinterlands e ci saranno molte nuove carte in vendita sul mercato di Splinterlands.

Tra i pacchi acquistati e i pacchi bonus saranno 884898 i pacchi di carte che potranno essere aperti.
884898 pacchi di carte = 4424490 carte

Difficilmente tutti i pacchi di carte verranno aperti l'8 dicembre perchè chi ha acquistato i pacchi di carte avrà diverse opzioni tra cui scegliere:

  • aprire i pacchi
  • conservare i pacchi in ottica di un profitto futuro
  • non aprire i pacchi in attesa di accumulare un sufficiente numero di pozioni alchemiche e leggendarie dalle missioni giornaliere

Se solo il 30% dei pacchi acquistati sarà aperto ci saranno 1327347 carte della collezione Chaos Legion disponibili all'uso in battaglia, alla vendita o al noleggio.

L'immissione di tante nuove carte nelle dinamiche del gioco di Splinterlands potrebbe portare ad una diminuzione del valore delle carte delle collezioni precedenti e questa diminuzione potrebbe riguardare sopratutto le carte meno utili in battaglia e meno richieste sul mercato del noleggio e della vendita.

La mia è solo una previsione che potrebbe rivelarsi sbagliata ma per questo motivo e prima dell'8 dicembre cercherò di vendere tutte le carte che ho nella mia collezione di carte che:

  • non utilizzo in battaglia o utilizzo raramente
  • non sono molto richieste sul mercato di vendita e di noleggio.

A differenza dei miei precendeti post sull'ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte in cui ho sempre condiviso obbiettivi di acquisto e obbiettivi di vendita in questo post condividerò solo le mie scelte di vendita e le considerazioni che mi hanno portato a decidere di vendere una determinata carta piuttosto che un'altra.

In questo momento la mia priorità è vendere tute le carte che reputo poco utili in battaglia.

L'utilità in battaglia di una carta

Splinterlands è un gioco divertente perchè ogni battaglia è sempre diversa da ogni altra perchè ogni battaglia ha una o due regole di battaglia da rispettare e queste regole cambiano ad ogni battaglia.

Ci sono carte, come ad esempio alcune carte leggendarie, che hanno statistiche di battaglia molto forti e quindi giocano bene anche con diverse regole di battaglia.
Ci sono altre carte la cui utilità in battaglia dipende molto dalle regole della battaglia e anche dalle carte evocatore con cui vengono utilizzate.

Scegliere le carte in base alle regole di battaglia e alla carta evocatore con cui dovranno essere utilizzate è sempre importante per vincere una battaglia

Le regole di battaglia sono importanti ma i due elementi che determinano maggiormente l'utilità di una carta in battaglia sono:

  • il livello e l'abilità della carta evocatore con cui viene utilizzata una carta
  • la/le abilità che una carta ottiene quando raggiunge un determinato livello.

Una carta utile per me potrebbe essere poco utile per un altro giocatore e viceversa.

Ad esempio una delle ultime carte che ho potenziato è la carta Albatross.

La carta Albatross è uno degli esempi più chiari ed esplicativi di quanto una carta di Splinterlands possa essere poco utile ai livelli iniziali e molto utile quando raggiunge un determinato livello.

Infatti Albatross di livello 1 è una carta sacrificabile in battaglia e ed è utile solo per proteggere carte più forti e funzionali per ottenere la vittoria in battaglai.
Albatross di livello 6 diventa invece molto utile in battaglia perchè acquisisce l'abilità Heal ed è l'unica carta di Splinterlands che costa solo un punto di mana ad avere questa abilità.

I miei obiettivi di vendita

La carta Sea Genie

Nella mia collezione di carte ho 4 carte Sea Genie:

  • 1 carta di livello 4 (combinazione di 12 carte di livello 1)
  • 1 carta di livello 3 (combinazione di 5 carte di livello 1)
  • 2 carte di livello 1

Il prezzo più basso della singola carta Sea Genie sul mercato è di 5.00$ (Sea Genie di livello 1)

Il prezzo più basso per BCX è di 0.84$ - Sea Genie di livello 10 (risultato della combinazione di 505 carte di livello 1).

Ho deciso di vendere tutte le mie carte Sea Genie e di seguito ti spiego le mie motivazioni.

I motivi della vendita

Motivo numero 1: ho alternative migliori nella mia collezione.

Sea Genie è una buona carta soprattutto se utilizzata con un evocatore che ha l'abilità di aumentare i punti di attacco magico come ad esempio Alric Stormbringher.
Invece per me è una carta poco utile in battaglia e infatti non la utilizzo quasi mai perchè ho carte che hanno statistiche di battaglia migliori di Sea Genie come ad esempio Medusa (livello 5) o Tortisian Chief (livello 4).
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere tutte le alternative a Sea Genie che ho nella mia collezione di carte e puoi capire facilmente il perchè non la utilizzo in battaglia.

Motivo numero 2: Il guadagno ottenibile dal noleggio è relativamente basso.

Prima di vendere una carta controllo sempre il valore che posso ottenere dal noleggio.

Grazie all'utile sito di PeakMonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/) posso controllare velocemente il prezzo di noleggio attuale della carta Sea Genie.

Il prezzo di noleggio più basso sul mercato di Sea Genie di livello 4 è di 1.250 DEC/day

Ogni entrata passiva è sempre un'ottima entrata da ricevere ma i prezzi del noleggio attuali di Sea Genie non sono un ostacolo alla mia decisione di vendere.

La carta Tortisian Fighter

L'altra carta che vorrei vendere è Tortisian Fighter.

Nella mia collezione di carte ho 19 carte Tortisian Fighter tutte di livello 1.

Il prezzo più basso della singola carta Tortisian Fighter sul mercato è di 0.85$ (Tortisian Fighter di livello 1) e questo è anche il prezzo più basso per BCX presente sul mercato.

I motivi della vendita

Motivo numero 1: ho alternative migliori nella mia collezione.

Tortisian Fighter ha due punti di forza:

  • 2 punti di attacco già a partire dal livello 1
  • costo in termini di mana basso: 4 punti di Mana.

Ma ha un grande difetto: può attaccare solo dalla prima posizione.

Nell'immagine seguente poi vedere tutte le alternative alla carta Tortisian Fighter che ho nella mia collezione.

Motivo numero 2: Il guadagno ottenibile dal noleggio è relativamente basso.

Il prezzo di noleggio più basso sul mercato di Tortisian Fighter di livello 1 è di 3.850 DEC/day

Anche per Tortisian Fighter valgono le stesse considerazioni fatte precedentemente per la carta Sea Genie.

La carta Giant Squid

L'altra carta che vorrei vendere è Giant Squid.

Il prezzo più basso della singola carta Giant Squid sul mercato è di 2.39$ (Giant Squid di livello 1) e questo è anche il prezzo più basso per BCX presente sul mercato.

I motivi della vendita

Motivo numero 1: ho alternative migliori nella mia collezione.

Giant Squid di livello 1 è una buona carta perchè ha:

  • 2 punti di attacco dalla distanza già a partire dal livello 1
  • 4 punti vita e 1 punto armatura.

Giant Squid di livello 1 e una carta che gioca bene nelle leghe iniziali ma non nelle leghe più avanzate (Gold+).
Tra l'altro ha un buon valore di mercato ma non mi interessa potenziarla perchè ho alternative migliori nella mia collezione.

Nell'immagine seguente poi vedere tutte le alternative alla carta Giant Squid che ho nella mia collezione come ad esempio Water Elemental di livello 3.

Inoltre c'è un carta dell'elemento Water che ha statistiche simili a Giant Squid ma ha abilità che la rendono molto più utile in battaglia rispetto a Giant Squid e inoltre ha un costo per carte inferiore: Sniping Narwhal.

Il prezzo di noleggio più basso sul mercato di Giant Squid di livello 1 è di 0.100 DEC/day

Il prezzo sul mercato del noleggio della carta Giant Squid è davvero basso e quindi procederò con tranquillità con la vendita.

Conclusione

Ho messo in vendita le carte Sea Genie, Tortisian Fighter e Giant Squid al prezzo più basso sul mercato in base al loro livello.

Se venderò tutte le carte che ho messo in vendita otterrò un valore di 103.42$.

Sempre molto dettagliato e interessante. Rimani il riferimento massimo.

La tua strategia ci sta, tuttavia mi domando se al contrario con l’uscita di nuove carte, non si possano creare sinergie con delle vecchie che magari prima avevano poco valore e ora ne acquisirebbero.

Si la tua osservazione è corretta e potrebbe succedere e questo è successo in passato quando alcune carte erano considerate di poco valore mentre poi in combinazione con altre hanno dimostrato tutto il loro valore.
Può succedere anche quando vengono introdotte nuove regole di battaglia che rivalutano alcune abilità e di conseguenza anche le carte che le hanno.
Io però vendo le carte che non uso e che hanno statistiche simili a carte che invece uso molto e in questo caso è possibile ma difficile che la carta si rivaluti più dell'altra che magari ho potenziato con la vendita ;)

I think your decision makes a lot of sense since there are a lot of cards that I don't use as well. For example, sea genie is only used when I use water and I have a earthquake rule set.

Exactly @jfang003 what you highlighted is the only situation where Sea Genie can be used but the use is so rare that selling it is for me the best choice.
In the end I decided to keep only two level 1 Sea Genie
