War Chaang: Battle Strategy and Considerations
Hello friends,
the protagonist of this post is the card War Chaang that is also the protagonist of the Splinterlands contest titled "Share Your Battle" this week.
The topics that I will cover in this post are the following:
Topics
- Card: War Chaang
- Description, Statistics and Abilities.
- Cost, Levels and Evaluations
- Level Considerations
- A battle of mine with War Chaang
- My battle formation.
- Battle rounds
- Final Considerations
- Battle considerations
- Considerations about War Chaang
Card: War Chaang
Description, Statistics and Abilities
War Chaang is an Epic card, is a card of the Untamed collection and is a card of the Neutral element .
War Chaang of level 1 has the following stats:
- It has a medium mana cost (7)
- It has a double attack:
- 2 attack points (Melee Attack)
- 1 Ranged Attack point
- It has 8 life points and has no armor points.
- Has an average speed (3)
- It has a good ability: Retaliate.
Cards that have the Retaliate ability when they receive an attack from a melee attack card have an opportunity to counterattack.
Cost, Levels and Evaluations
- Level 3: Compared to Level 1, it increases its attack points (Ranged) (1 --> 2) and increases its life points (8 --> 9).
- Level 4: Compared to Level 3 it acquires a new ability: Trample.
- Level 5: Compared to Level 4, it increases its attack points (Meele) (2 --> 3).
- Level 6 (Max Level): Compared to Level 5, it increases its attack points (Ranged) (2 --> 3).
Level considerations
For those who play in the advanced leagues of Splinterlands the level that in my opinion has the best ratio benefits / price is the fourth level.
For new players who play in the initial leagues and who have few credits or few DEC I recommend to buy War Chaang (level 1).
War Chaang (level 10) is a very good card, but it cannot be used profitably in every battle.
It is very strong in battles that have certain battle rules so it is a card to be bought or upgraded only after considering upgrading other cards.
Now let's see how War Chaang behaves on the Battlefield.
A battle of mine with War Chaang
If you want to see the battle you can do it from this link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=6e44cea7d1e048dec27664c053c262acecec8896&ref=libertycrypto27
- Earthquake: Cards that do not have the ability Flying lose two life points at the beginning of each round from round two.
- Melee Mayhem: Cards with melee attack can attack from any position.
- Mana Cap: 36.
- Evocators that can be used: Only Death, Dragon and Fire element summoners can be used in battle.
My battle formation
First position
Why did I deploy Haunted Spirit (Level 5) in first position?
When the rule of battle is Earthquake my priority is to choose a card that has a good chance of surviving the effects of the earthquake and the attacks (generally strong) of the opponent card in first position.
The Heal ability of Haunted Spirit gives me a good guarantee of survival.
It has other very good statistics:
- It has 9 life points which is a lot for a card that costs only 5 mana.
- It has a good attack (3).
- It has a good ability: Magic Reflect (Counterattack when it receives a magic attack).
Second position
Why did I deploy Manticore (Level 4) in second position?
The main reason I chose Manticore is its ability: Flying which makes it an excellent card for the battle of this post because it will not suffer any damage from the Earthquake.
Thanks to Manticore's Flying ability, Manticore is more likely to avoid melee and ranged attacks.
Manticore is a very strong card and its ideal position is the second position because the Reach ability allows it to attack from the second position.
It also has the Thorns ability which is very useful when the battle rule is Melee Mayhem.
Thanks to this ability, all opponent cards that attack Manticore with a melee attack will receive a counter attack from Manticore.
It also has very good statistics:
- It has a very low cost in mana (4)
- It has 8 life points which are many for a card that costs only 4 mana.
- It has two other excellent skills: Flying, Reach
Third position
Why did I choose Dark Enchantress?
It has good speed (4), has the same ability as Manticore (Flying) and has a powerful magic attack (3).
Excellent card, I also chose it for its ability Stun able to freeze for a turn the card that suffers its attack.
It's a card I like very much.
Fourth position
Why did I choose Echanted Pixies?
Echanted Pixies is perhaps the most suitable card for battle rules because it has the Flying ability that makes it immune to earthquake effects and has the Inspire ability to increase the melee attack of Haunted Spirit, Manticore, Dragon Jumper w War Chaang by one unit.
Being the most fragile card (only 3 life points) I chose to deploy it in fourth position to protect it.
Fifth position
Why did I choose Dragon Jumper?
Very useful card especially when the battle rule is Earthquake.
It has the ability Flying which makes it immune to the effects of the earthquake and has the ability Opportunity which directs Dragon Jumper attacks towards the weaker opponent card.
Six position
Why did I choose War Chaang?
I chose War Chaang first of all because it is the protagonist of the weekly contest of Splinterlands :)
I usually line up War Chaang in second position. In this battle I chose the last position because, only in this circumstance (Melee Mayhem), he will hardly receive attacks and his total attack of 6 (4 Melee + 1 Ranged) is important to win the battle and therefore it must be protected.
Summoner
It is one of the summoners I use most particularly when the battle rule is Melee Mayhem or Up Close and Personal.
It allows me to summon level 7 common cards, level 5 rare cards, level 4 epic cards and level 3 legendary cards.
Some time ago I wrote a post about Daria Dragonscale: https://peakd.com/hive-140217/@libertycrypto27/daria-dragonscale-vs-malric-inferno-considerations
Thanks to his ability all my melee attack cards get an extra attack point.
Battle Rounds
ROUND 2
During the first round my opponent loses two cards while I lose Haunted Spirit annihilated by the attack of the Goblin Mech opponent.
At the beginning of round 2 and after the effects of the earthquake I have a double statistical advantage over my opponent in terms of life points (+1 in my favor) and attack points (the difference between the total of attack points between me and my opponent is +3 in my favor).
ROUND 3
At the beginning of Round 3 my opponent is left with only one card: Fire Spitter that cannot attack from the first position.
The result of the battle is now obvious and in fact the battle ends at the beginning of Round 3.
Final considerations
Considerations on the Battle
My opponent adopts a strategy that I hardly ever adopt.
He uses only 1 card out of 6 choices available with the Flying ability.
My opponent's strategy is advantageous only when the battle rules are 2:
- Up Close and Personal (or Melee Mayhem)
- Back to Basics
I won the battle because I lined up the cards paying close attention to the rules of battle.
I lined up 4 cards out of 6 with the Flying ability.
The formation chosen by my opponent loses 10 life points due to the earthquake every round.
My formation loses only 4 life points each round.
War Chaang was very important to win the battle.
Considerations on War Chaang
War Chaang is a card I don't use much but it's a very good card to have in your deck because it's very useful when the battle rules are Up Close and Personal and Melee Mayhem.
It is also useful when the battle rule is Close Range because in this circumstance it could be deployed in first position.
With this post I participate in the weekly Splinterlands contest entitled "Share Your Battle".

War Chaang: Strategia di Battaglia e Considerazioni
Ciao amici,
Costo, Livelli e Valutazioni
War Chaang:
- Level 3: Rispetto al Livello 1 aumenta i suoi punti di attacco (Ranged) (1 --> 2) e aumenta i suoi punti vita (8 --> 9).
- Level 5: Rispetto al Livello 4 aumenta i suoi punti di attacco (Meele) (2 --> 3).
Prima posizione
Perchè ho schierato Haunted Spirit (Livello 5) in prima posizione?
Seconda posizione
Perchè ho schierato Manticore (Livello 4) in seconda posizione?
In genere schiero War Chaang in seconda posizione.
- Up Close e Personal (o Melee Mayhem)
- Back to Basics
