Splinterlands - An EPIC Equalizer Battle
Hello Friends,
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=5a5c8e2d3589ded93a4d1c1eb4f008756ce80c57
Hope you all settled down analyzing the rewards from Splinterlands last season and hopefully, you got some Legendaries and Gold Foiled ones.
I wasn't that lucky(infact, not lucky for last many seasons :)) as an Epic card was the best one for me from 120 chests.
OK, I know it's time to move on and hence, here I am bringing you an Epic battle I battled recently with the all new rule set of Equalizer wherein, all the monsters will have same health as of an monster with highest health from monsters on both sides.
I hope you enjoy reading about this nice battle and get some good moments from the boring quarantine life :)
Battle and Lineup:
Well, an Equalizer battle with 50 MANA cap will obviously go a long way unless there is huge difference between the monsters on the opposite side.
But, that wasn't the case as opponent's monsters were equally superb(infact, better than the monsters I used), but I still squeezed up a win, courtesy of Taunting monster in Magnor.
Mind you, this battle also had Broken Arrows rule, meaning, no ranged attack monsters can be used in battle!!
OK, let me get you thru the lineup I used for this battle.
My Lineup:
1. Exploding Dwarf:
Whenever I see an Equalizer battle is up, I always try to use this as front monster for the simple reason that, it gives huge melee attack with high speed along with that blasting and piercing abilities and also the retaliate it can do when a melee monster attacks.
So, if everything clicks as per the abilities of this monster, it can wipe out some 2-3 monsters before they realize what is happening!!!
2. Giant Roc:
Next in line was a Giant Roc for the abilities of reach and trample besides being a flying monster.
It's 3 melee attack and also good speed of 4 will combine well with Exploding Dwarf and provides much needed backup attack once the front monster attacks.
3. Flame Imp:
I particularly use this monster for it's Swift ability, which is very much required for the Exploding Dwarf and other monsters to be attacking early and it's 2 magic attack is valuable as well as this is also among the first few to attack.
4. Beetle Queen:
Beetle Queen being the first healer for Fire Splinter is very much required in this lineup to keep Exploding Dwarf alive for as long as possible with also providing the 2 magic attack.
5. Prismatic Energy:
This is a monster, I use it upfront, mostly in second position, but in this battle, I used Magnor in last position and to lessen the the magic blast attack if any and also do some magic reflect.
This is also among high speed monsters and 4 of them are among 4+ speed here augurs well for my lineup.
6. Magnor:
Don't be surprised for using this taunting monster at the backend, there was a plan and it worked well for me :)
That completes my lineup and opponent's lineup had mostly magic monsters and in the order, it had, Battle Orca, Spineback Turtle, Medusa, Sea Genie, Ruler Of The Seas and Spirit Miner.
Isn't that quite nice lineup from opponent?
Interestingly, the combined attack for each of us was 15!!! barring my Magnor, which anyway wouldn't attack until it becomes the front monster.
Battle:
With the amount of attack and also the amount of health each monsters were having, how long or how many rounds the battle will last?
You guesses it right ;) it went for just 15 rounds!!!!
OK, let the battle begin!!!
This is how the monsters were looking before the first attack, which anyway will be from Exploding Dwarf.
Round 1:
Round 1 went almost as per the expectations with Exploding Dwarf leading the attack for me and Magnor taking all the pounding from opponent's monsters.
By the end of round 1, Battle Orca almost neared it's death and same fate with Magnor for me.
Round 2:
In the second round, once Battle Orca died with first attack in this round, in comes the Spineback Turtle and Magor too died soon enabling the magic monsters for opponent to follow their usual route of attack.
There weren't any loss of monsters on this round and they fared as below at the end of it.
Round 3:
A stun in the previous round by Medusa prevented Exploding Dwarf from attacking in this round and sadly that made it to perish and opponent's Spineback Turtle to bit the dust bringing Medusa to the front and Giant Roc for me took over from Exploding Dwarf, the role of guarding my monsters.
Round 4:
If it was NOT an Equalizer battle, it would have been over by this time I guess, but not here.
There weren't any loss of monsters in this round, but a stun from Medusa at the end of this round means, Giant Roc is barred from attacking in next round.
Round 5:
Medusa was done in early by my magic monsters and Giant Roc deprived off it's attacking, took out by Ruler of the Seas and co leaving 3 monsters each at the end of round 5. We still have 10 more rounds to go!!!
Round 6:
Since the number of monsters remaining got reduced, so is the number of iterations in each round.
This round had just 8 iterations and the attack capability in this round was 6 (2+2+2) from my monsters as against 10(3+4+3) opponent, but what I had was a healing monster in Beetle Queen.
Round 7:
Round 7 had a casualty in Flame Imp and Sea Genie for opponent was also about to lose life by the end of this round.
Round 8:
The attack capability by this round was 4 against 10, but healer was still the difference and soon, Sea Genie was perished.
Round 9:
With 2 monsters on each side, battle was getting smoother and smoother with still imbalance in terms of attack capability.
No casualties in this round.
Round 10:
Ruler of the Seas was hanging on just one health by end of this round with healer Beetle Queen healing itself and keeping that front position by itself.
Round 11:
Oh, we still have 4 more after this and this round lost the magician Ruler of the Seas and Sea Genie battled hard in remaining 4 rounds!!!
Round 12 to 15:
Beetle Queen and Prismatic Energy with 2 magic attack each, kept attacking the 15 health Sea Genie which couldn't take anymore by Fifteenth round and surrendered and I became the winner!!!!
I hope you had fun reading thru this and enjoyed the battle as much fun I had in writing this blog!!!
Wishing you all a Good Day and Happy Blogging and Battling Guys :)
See you soon in the battle.
