Diversification and Rusty Android (freewrite story) (EN|UA)

Нарешті дійшли руки до написання нового повідомлення. Немає часу вигадувати щось особливе, тому знову потреную своє вміння писати ні про що. Це вміння ще інколи називають форматом #freewrite.

Finally got my hands on writing a new message. There is no time to invent something special, so again I train my ability to write about anything. This skill is sometimes called the #freewrite format.

Більшу частину вільного часу, що я мав на роботі я присвятив виставленню на продаж та спалюванню карт @splinterlands. Під час цього заняття спіймав себе на думці, що вже давно треба було поставити крапку в історії з картами. Цікаво що було моєю причиною лінь чи свідоме витіснення такого варіанту. Якщо чесно, то навіть зараз, виставляючи карти на продаж в мені ніби щось протестує. Хто знає, можливо через декілька років ці карти коштували б цілий статок, але не факт що навіть тоді я знайшов би когось, хто захотів їх купити.

Most of the free time I had at work I spent on selling and burning @splinterlands cards. During this lesson, I caught myself thinking that it had long been necessary to put an end to the history of cards. I wonder what was the reason for my laziness or deliberate displacement of this option. To be honest, even now, putting the cards up for sale seems to be protesting in me. Who knows, maybe in a few years these cards would cost a fortune, but not the fact that even then I would find someone who wanted to buy them.

На протязі кількох років ціна на деякі карти кардинально змінювалась. Наприклад Rusty Android, якого колись можна було купити за 0.007 $ (чітко пам’ятаю таку ціну) зараз торгується по 0.133 $. От в що потрібно було інвестувати, зараз би ви отримували х19 на продажі кожного з них, хоча не факт, що у вас вийшло би продати їх велику кількість.

Over the years, the price of some cards has changed dramatically. For example, Rusty Android, which could once be bought for $ 0.007 (I clearly remember that price), is now trading at $ 0.133. That's what you had to invest in, now you would get x19 for the sale of each of them, although not the fact that you would be able to sell a large number of them.

Цей випадок став прекрасним прикладом того, що речі які ніби не мають ніякої цінності, можуть раптово отримати її. Не знаю на що Вас надихне це приклад, а я в першу чергу подумав про диверсифікацію ризиків. До речі, на прикладі тих же карт @splinterlands прекрасно можна відчути як працює диверсифікація. Часто самі сильні карти швидко перестають бути такими, а здавалось би нікчемні, після чергового апдейту, набирають додаткової сили. Ці зміни, в свою чергу, приводять до подальших коливань їх цінності.

This case is a great example of how things that seem to have no value can suddenly get it. I don't know what this example will inspire you to do, but first of all I thought about risk diversification. By the way, on the example of the same @splinterlands cards you can perfectly feel how diversification works. Often the strongest cards quickly cease to be so, and seemingly insignificant, after the next update, gain additional strength. These changes, in turn, lead to further fluctuations in their value.

Думаю, уже зовсім скоро, коли буде реалізована ідея з землями на @splinterlands, я вже не зможу розгледіти в ній ту раню альфа та бету версію, яким я дуже вдячний за прекрасно проведений час та можливість заробити певний капітал. Наступить новий час і я впевнений, що знайдуться інші гравці, які зможуть не тільки насолоджуватись грою, а й заробити на цьому непогані статки.

I think very soon, when the idea with the lands on @splinterlands will be realized, I will not be able to see in it that early alpha and beta version, to which I am very grateful for a great time and the opportunity to earn some capital. A new time will come and I am sure that there will be other players who will not only be able to enjoy the game, but also earn good money on it.
