Banning on social media creates opportunities for blockchain based platforms

I see a lot of discussions these day about incorrect banning on social medias and the recent case is the one of Splinterlands done by Twitter. While for sure this is quite bad without any explanation or real reason to it, in the same time it has a positive effect on the emerging platforms and creates in itself opportunities to the space. I agree that social medias needs some kind of moderation, but not unilateral at least.

And with this in mind I still dream at the moment when Project Blank will see the day of light. So if anyone has any information about WHEN, please feel free to add some content to it. Until than my favorite social medias platforms where I am short posting is TORUM and NOISE.CASH. Torum is yet to get its token XTM to an exchange and hopefully that will be soon as I have bagged some tokens in the time. NOISE just rewards you with tips on the spot as BCH cryptocurrency and at the moment they are quite alight with the rewards system. Making few dollars a day for small posts with immediate rewards is quite fulfilling.

Now to tell you a little story: a couple of days ago I was hustling on NOISE.CASH and probably have been more active than usual and did quite a bit of posts (but not to aggressive, I think 5-6 posts). While the first 3 posts where getting tips, the last ones where getting 0 ZERO rewards. For a moment I though I abused the system, that maybe they have banned me or something as there was no feedback from the platform on what's happening. I have been there for more than 7 months, have more than 2300 subscribers so you must get why I was bothered with what was happening. Still, I have chilled off and let a little bit time to pass (about 24 hours) and my today's post already made more than $1. I guess they have some sort of cooldown periods for tips probably per 24 hours intervals and I consumed that pretty fast.

I must confess that I didn't go through some good feeling about this experience and what I can tell you is that people are taking pretty hard when they are BANNED. I felt that some freedom was taking away from me and I am sure the others in similar situations like Splinterlands felt the same. Still, in my case it was a story with happy end as the rewards resume as normal. What this creates is that people need a decentralized social media, one with rules voted by the users for the users. This way freedom of expression and growing is just in your hands and only the sky is the limit if you put your mind on it. This is the way!

My experience, and the reason I came to Hive, is that one day I posted a suggestion that people go vote on election day on a Facebook Page. I did not endorse any candidate or make a political statement. Merely, go vote. Facebook removed that post.

It was a minor thing. But, it let me to believe that if they are banning that, then they definitely would ban my opinions. So, I set out to find something more censorship resistant, or at least more tolerant. Now, here I am.

Freedom of expression in transparent boundaries should be the way to do it!
