Splinterlands - Rentals management and tracking using Peakmonsters

avatar

Splinterlands metaverse expands with use cases recurrently and one appreciated by most of the investors and players is the renting cards features. Peakmonster took that to another level and allows easy renting and tracking for your cards, thus minimizing the management time on that part and allowing taking care of other game mechanics. It can be scary in the beginning to start renting your cards, but after diving little by little into it you'll find it is pretty easy to do so.

The first step is to go to PeakMonsters site and access the My Cards option from the page header menu. This will list all your cards and you will also have a summary section in which you can see the Total Value of your cards and as well the Revenue from rentals. This is the information that you can check from time to time to see how your rental earnings are looking and keep an eye on the % yearly ROA. Seeing that decreases can be due to the market, but also a signal that some of your cards are not rented anymore and that you need to adjust the prices on those.

One thing less evident when browsing through Your Cards is that you have in the upper right corner a filtering option to apply on the current view: LIST, GRID and BULK. I suggest using the BULK view as you can SORT your cards and select multiple ones (of the same type) to get them rented.

Another piece of information that you need to pay attention to is the Delegated To (Rent remaining) column where you can see your card's rental and also how much time is remaining for that. When empty you need to adjust the rental prices to get them matched on the market and start earning DEC again. You can do that by SELECTING the cards to rent, push the RENT button and select CHANGE Price option.

Renting cards on Peakmosters is easy enough and once you start putting cards out there you will find the process quite easy. There is a little bit of management to it, but I think this is not as much consuming when you are using the bulk option. I am using that quite nicely and I am able to adjust my renting prices when needed.

The peakmonster rent feature is amazing, I'm using it for my rentals also. The entire universe is developing, and I'm eager to see how the rental market will bloom after the lands are out. Because each plot will need at least a card to function on it and if it is maximized the returns are better.

Do you have any plots?

Got my hands on 10 plots that I have acquired with DEC earnings. Most of the things I have done in Splinterlands are with the earnings from the game and to think that with that I am over $100K, that is mind blowing...

Yes, it is. I won't disclose how many plots and the value of the assets, but I'm with you, it is already paid itself, bringing a lot of income lately in.

I seriously wish some genius in charge could come up with a way to incentivize renting earlier in the season. If you want to rent out your cards throughout the season, you essentially have to constantly lower the price or someone else will and your cards will be further and further from the top of the pile, so to speak. This would be dangerous if it wasn't so common for people to only rent for 24 hours. I'd hate to have someone snag the cards at the constantly lower prices and lock them up for the whole season, but no one does that. Not with max level cards, anyway. I guess it's not all bad, it's just kind of more work than it needs to be. 😂

The renting curve indeed looks like a problem that needs to be solved somehow. Maybe if Splinterlands would require an average Collection Power per season, that would make a requirement to have CP for the entire season and not just the last day of it.

Sweet, thanks for the heads-up. I'm not renting at the moment, although that aspect is part of my strategy going forward. I'm still fairly new here, at Bronze 1 level and gaining. Blogposts like this one are really useful for us newer mambers. Many thanks - Ian.
