I pooled my DEC on cubfinance!! And a full guide on how you can do it.

You can now put your DEC into pooling on cubfinance! The announcement came out around 6 hours ago. Unlike my previous cubfinance endeavors, which was a week late, this time I did it as soon as I got to know of it.

I haven't played splinterlands in a long time and I have over 12000 DEC just sitting around. Better put that to some good use and make some CUB instead of it collecting dust. This will also make me want to play splineterlands all over again.

Win-win? Duh!

The pair is giving an impressive APR of 764.81%, with CUB as the earning, and a tiny deposit fee of just 4%. Sounds much better than an APR of 0% with an earning of nothing with my DEC simply rotting away.

First things first. Log into your splinterlands account and click on your DEC. Enter the amount of DEC you want to take and select binance smart chain as the wallet option, and click on "transfer out".

image.png

You will then land on this pop-up where you need to select the Binance Smart Wallet option and feed in your wallet address. If you have any trouble finding it, simply click on "find my address" (or something similar) and it should open your metamask wallet and prompt a confirmation. You need to select your preferred wallet which ideally should have enough BNB and BUSD to complete the upcoming steps.

After you have done this, you are almost done in terms of transferring your DEC.

Alternatively, you can follow these steps to connect your BSC wallet to splinterlands and transfer your DEC directly:

Log into your splinterlands account and click on this symbol, and select "Link External Wallet".

image.png

From there we repeat the steps shown above to connect the wallet. Either add your wallet address or click on "find my wallet" and select the preferred account, and save.

image.png

To add the "contract address" of DEC in your metamask wallet, open the wallet and preferred account, scroll down and click on "add token"

Then click on "Custom Token" and paste this contract address
0xe9d7023f2132d55cbd4ee1f78273cb7a3e74f10a.

The remaining fields will auto-fill and you can simply click next and you're done.

Now, your DEC is in your preferred BSC wallet account.

Now let's go to the fun part. Pooling the DEC you just wrapped.
Go to https://exchange.cubdefi.com/#/pool, and select "add liquidity".
Since we will be pooling DEC and BUSD, we should be selecting those parameters in the two slots. It will look something like this, with the two coins' values corresponding to match.

image.png

I have already "approved" my BUSD, so I won't need to do it again. It may prompt you to approve your BUSD if you haven't already. I will only need to approve my DEC. Approvals take a really short time and a tiny amount of BNB in fees. You will be prompted once you click on approve and you can see the details on the popup and on eteherscan once the transaction is executed.

image.png

Next, you simply need to click on the supply button, and then confirm the supply for which you will be once again prompted to approve it for a tiny fee.

Next, go to https://cubdefi.com/farms and scroll down to the DEC-BUSD LP contract and click on "approve contract". Make sure you go through the details and confirm it for a small fee.

image.png

Upon doing that you can now click on "stake" which will prompt a deposit pop-up where you can select how much you put in. Upon confirming you will receive a final confirmation pop-up, which you can read, agree, and pay a small fee for.

Voila!

Enjoy your harvest boys!

Wow. There seem to be a lot of small fees involved in this process. 😂

First I have to work out how to buy some BNB or maybe someone is interested in swapping some for some DEC. That might be worth investigating . . .

I think the perfect place would be the splinterlands discord channels. Pretty sure you can land a deal to trade dec for bnb!

Yeah. I was thinking that. Would like to understand the pros and cons of being in the pool a bit more before I go ahead.

That would be the smartest thing to do. You wouldn't want to go in blind like myself when I first pooled a tiny amount into busd-usdt pool in another platform to only later calculate and realize I just locked my funds (or will have to pay to unlock) and was making way too less in comparison to just holding or not pooling at all.

Thanks Jarvie. That's a kind thought. I feel I need to understand the whole process better anyway before I take the plunge so won't be doing anything in a hurry.

I downloaded the TRUST wallet to my mobile phone and purchased BNB (BEP-20) with my debit card. I don't have a Binance account and have found it is difficult for US citizens to get one. This has been my experience.

Not Binance's fault but the difficulty lies in the Security and Exchange Commission's (SEC) requirement for Know Your Customer (KYC) information to be collected by crypto trading exchanges.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the UK so Binance isn't a problem. Just not sure I have the time and energy to learn to use something new right now.

I had a go just now gillian! Ive no idea what real worth it will be as I only threw in a few thousand DEC but I wanted to check it out and learn the process. Everything seems convoluted in this crazy crypto world...
Its been fun getting matched with you in splinterlands every now and then! You usually beat me, but its far nicer to be beaten by someone I know than some faceless bot

(Edited)

Nice to hear from you Basil and good for you for having a go. I'm still reading the posts about it. I don't have any BUSB so will have to get some of that first. It's all so bloody complicated, or convoluted as you say. 😊

you dont need much BUSB I dont think.... I seem to be getting by on very little. Not quite sure of the ins and outs, but if youre only putting yours coins in the Den then you only need a tiny bit for paying the fees. If you feel a bit more ambitious and you want to do the farming, you have to buy an equal amount of BNB or BUSB to your coin so that theres equal liquidity in the pool. Ive tested that out in a small way with the DEC farm but Im thinking of investing a little bit more to put some Eth in a farm as well. Its keeping me entertained at the moment thats for sure!

I'm confused.

you have to buy an equal amount of BNB or BUSB to your coin so that theres equal liquidity in the pool.

I thought that is what your post was referring to. There isn't a DEC DEN is there? So the only way to use my DEC is to buy some BNB to add th equal liquidity. That's what I don't have.

I don't have a Binance account either and not sure I want to sign up with yet another exchange. I had hoped that someone in the Splinterlands discord might interested in a trade but so far there've been no takers.

I got lucky! As soon as I saw the announcement I hopped onto my splinterlands account and realized I had some DEC just sitting there collecting dust.

Wrapped my DEC yesterday as well! Was thinking about making a tutorial as well but glad you beat me to the punch! I now have DEC wrapped with both Ethereum (wDEC) and BUSD (bDEC)!

Good stuff!

Thats awesome mate! I still think you should go ahead and make the tutorial. Since you did it through trust wallet and not metamask ( like I did), and many may find your tutorial easier to follow than mine.
