This is an update for Splinterlands stats for November 2020.

01.png

Splinterlands transitioned to the Hive blockchain on June 1st, 2020, and we will be looking at the data starting from this period.
The land presale is one of the main things happening now in the game. Lets see how are things doing.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Number of games played
  • Number of active daily players
  • Number of active monthly players
  • New Accounts created by Splinterlands
  • DEC burned
  • DEC Price

Number of battles played

Here is the chart of the daily numbers of battles played in the period.

image001.png

Splinterlands is hitting more than 100k battles played daily for a while now. There are some spikes in the chart when the number of battles per day exceeded 120k. This usually happen on the last days of the seasons.

Overall, the number of battles per day has been quite steady in the period.

Number of active players

This is one of the most important metrics for every dApp, how many active users have there are. Here is a data for daily active users [DAU] and monthly active users as well [MAU]

image003.png

In the period from June to November 2020 the number of daily active players has been between 5k and 6k. In the last period its closer to 6k active daily players.

Next, the chart on the monthly active players.

image005.png

The number of MAU has dropped a bit in the period from around 10k in June to just above 8k in November.

New Accounts created by Splinterlands

Here are the new Hive accounts created by Splinterlands.

image007.png

This is a one year period for the number of accounts creation by Splinterlands, or more accurately by the @steemmonsters account. In the last months the number of accounts created dropped compered to the previous months.

I think there was a change in the accounts creating policy from Splinterlands and they reduced the numbers of new accounts created.

DEC burned

Another interesting metric is DEC burned. DEC is burned when buying potions, orbs, skins and guilds upgrade. The DICE edition is exclusive bought with DEC as well and it is burnt.
Not totally sure about the land sales, is this DEC burned or not.

Here is the chart for the all time DEC burned vs created.

image009.png

Note the chart is on a logarithmic scale.

There is a huge spike on October 15th with 1.7B DEC sent to null. A few more spikes in the last month with more than 1M DEC burned per day. On the other days this is usually somewhere between 400k to 700k DEC burned daily.

DEC Price

What about the DEC price?
Here is the chart on all time DEC price in dollars [$].

image012.png

The chart for November 2020, for better visibility.

image014.png

Trading between 0.0007$ and 0.0010$.

On October 2nd DEC was listed on Uniswap with LPs incentives and since then the price is trading in the range above. Before this the DEC price was even at 0.005$ on some occasions.

All the best

Now tell me that isn't flat!

Not that I'm selling off my collection, but based on these stats, it'd be a good time to offload if yer nervous!

I guess we're all banking on LAND!

It is pretty flat yes ... the thing with Splinterlands are the bots ... so you cant tell for sure when a real increase in the number of real users happens.

Another important indicator is the DEC price .... since the Uniswap listing that one has been held steadily.

I thought the BOT issue had been brought under control, at least to an extent!

At least I'm feeling like I'm meeting real players all the time - but I guess it's hard to tell, i know the enminers irritate a lot of people lower down.

Some nice DEC burning going on relatively recently - I'm expecting that to come down after the land sale, still, I've sold most of mine, I'll just hang on the rest for the inevitable LAND related purchases we'll have to make when that's released!

there is some stability in recent months in the number of players and battles while there is a marked decline in new players.

Maybe with the launch of Land the number of new palyers will increase again

Yes, the price remains at a very high level compared to the past, although now its value is halved compared to its ATH of the first days of November :(

Yeah, previously anyone who signed up from external sources got an account. Now they only get an account if they buy the summoner's spellbook. The free-players are using guest accounts that get recycled.

On your DEC burned/created stats, are you including loot chest rewards? Those are in addition to the amounts earned through battles.

Thanks for the clarification. I remember reading something about new account creation but forgot the details.

No, those are not included. The new DEC created is from the first announcement post, starting from 1M per month for games won, and going down 1% every month. In November 2020 this is 834k per day. Plus if we include the cards burn this will add up as well. Last time I checked those were somewhere at 1M per day as well.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to see the circulating supply numbers by day (less null). I'm not sure how to do that programmatically though. DEC is a very complicated beast.

Yep DEC is complicated :)
Might give it a closer look at some point, but you need to look in the game apies for that, not on chain, and usually there is a limit for the data there, like 1000 data points, meaning you will need to pool and save the data in your local database.

Lol .... I have some leftover STEEM and I'm gambling for fun with it .... waiting to be lost :)
I'm an EPC holder for a long time, just didn't play much.

I don't know if this is off-topic, but I thought the land sale should have been for DEC only, that in my opinion would have rewarded loyal players and lifted the token price out of the gutter.

I believe that I read somewhere that land purchased with DEC is NOT burned. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Informative as usual. I have been aggressively reccoemnding people to buy DEC whenever it reach below $0.001 and I have never been wrong with that bet. DEC always move towards $0.001 or higher. Even if it doesn't, you can redeem as it 1000 DEC was $1. Those of us familiar with using blockchain have a huge advantage over newbies coming to the game.
