Gods Unchained Update

Weekend Challenge

This game is such an absolute time suck! GU is more like chess than Splinterlands, because at every turn you must decide what card(s) to play. I've taken to only grinding out the Weekend Challenge, which I think is what many other people do as well. For the most part I get absolutely slaughtered. This does give me the opportunity to see some of the cards and combinations being used against me, so I can decide whether or not I want to buy them on the open market. This in turn increases my win rate over time.

As you can see, I'm not setting the world on fire with this win rate.

New Cards

Here are a few of the noteworthy cards I have picked up recently:

I recently had this played against me along with 4 wild cards. A lot of bang for your buck!

Not one of my favorite cards, but I thought it was interesting. I'm not sure the tradeoff is worth it though.

If you stack your deck with small cards with blitz, protected, and twin strike, this guy will punish your opponent.

If you happen to get up to 9 mana and get to play this card, more often than not it's game over for your opponent.

This was one of the cards I just picked up. I got absolutely shredded by it.

Compared to Splinterlands

While I technically own cards like this on Immutable X, the sense of ownership I have with Splinterlands just isn't there for me. Perhaps that's because I'm more of a Splinterlands OG, but maybe it's because Splinterlands has more of a vibrant game economy (SPS, DEC, Rentals, etc.). It seems like GU is a attempting to build more of this, with GODS rewards and what not. Splinterlands leans on its game economy a lot more than GU. I feel like GU stands on its own a lot more in terms of game play even if you ignore the crypto aspect of it. It's also a lot more clear to me how I could make real money as a Splinterlands investor/payer, not so much as a GU player. It could be that I am missing something. Besides the GODS airdrop, the play-to-earn aspect seems rather anemic to me.

I've been playing Gods Unchained since you needed an invite... It's literally the only blockchain game that's ever been able to catch my attention for very long. The new expansion set Mortal Judgement has some pretty awesome cards too. Once Daily Rewards comes out, I think it will level out more. Or just get even more competitive. Who knows. But I love it.

Thanks for your reply. I bought some genesis packs back in the day, but I didn't start playing until after I discovered I had received the airdrop. I haven't really figured out if you can earn any significant money playing though. Still, the gameplay mechanics are great.

Glad you gave it a shot! Funny, I was just looking at getting involved in Splinterlands after only playing Gods Unchained.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

I like GU too. I think GU and IMX would benefit if there was a system in place to rent cards and NFTs out. That attracts owners, long-term card investors, and people who just don't want to have to grind nonstop. My guess is they made the welcome and core cards not be NFTs because of their problems with gas rates on Ethereum before IMX got started, but now I think it would be better if they just made all the cards NFTs, it would increase the ownership appeal.
