Splinterlands Press release DATA // Marketing UPDATE 6

We have recently started sending out press releases for Hive Dapps. This is the most recent press release and the data on the sites picking it up and posting it on their site.

The data covers the reach and specific sites this press release can be seen on.

I have already reached out to numerous dapps we have on Hive and I will continue to do so. A few press releases are in works right now in regards to Hive as well as other dapps.

Currently on the Splinterlands PR there has been 98 pickups since this morning with a reach of 3 million. This will increase in the coming day or two.

What does pickup mean? that there is an actual article / news coverage on that medium about @splinterlands or that some editor just clicked on or viewed the press statement in their inbox?

It means it was published there. There is an actual article / news coverage. I just added a link to the press release itself. You can read what is being published.

Great news as PR releases is very much the sort of work needed by Hive.

We have been upgrading analytics system so if there is one in the future that has a peakd.com link we will report the results to verify the traction.

Would be interesting to see analytics by @splinterlands team if they'd be willing to share about traction coming from of these news sources today/this week.

I have inquired that with Matt right away.

Right now, all we have are these stats and we will adjust the target publications as we go.

I would really like to see a Peakd PR in similar fashion to this one. Ive sent you guys an inquiry @asgarth is aware of.
I dont want to be biased but you guys know what I think about Peakd.

I completely understand Splinterlands is in the ramping up phase for sure... I'd totally start with them any day of the week. PeakD.com in many ways is still in fast paced product development mode.

Ecency has a PR ready for next week. It doesnt have to be related to any new addition you guys make.

It can be about growth. It can be about positioning in the social dapps ranking.
Anything that can be determined as news. "Make stuff up". I mean dont lie, just pull out something in relation to everything that came before that can be seen as news.
Social media, freedom of speech. You know what news look like.

Any idea what the costs are for each publication on the websites? Just curious if it's lower for those with low monthly readers else one might think the last 3-4 pages are a bit unnecessary.

It is not expensive. White label agencies charge for similar ( i don't look at any site) around 100$ +- depending on sites. But it's Whitelabel.

for all sites combine. Content exclude.

Major sites cost for sure 10x more for one post. So it depends on the sites.

For example, a forbs post costs around 1k ( also Whitelabel service) for resellers. Open market price would be maybe higher.

There is 0 cost for the direct placement. The PRs are syndicated through a service and sent out to thousands of publications. It all depends who picks it up.

don't get me wrong but these sites are far away from high traffic sites. I think it is a start, but I would use it only for backlink building in the first case for diversification. Because the quality of sites is not the best ;)

And for sure it's better than nothing.

These are the sites that picked it up in about 10 hours. Actually, it wasnt 10 hours. Due to time difference with me and San Diego where Ignite is based, it was barely 2-3 hours.

Ill check in after a week and see where we are at with this PR. There are adjustments to be made to the articles themselves and the syndication used.
All the publications have their visitor numbers listed. That is the point of this at the beginning. To increase backlink buildup and getting Hive brand spread out to as many places as we can.
We will do this a dozen more times at least. Its just one aspect. Press releases for Hive, for multiple dapps, influencer onboarding, ads (a week away).... Stack it all up.

Thats what this campaign will do. All this stuff at the same time. What it achieves we will see in 3+ months.

It is a good start. That's why I say, don't get me wrong :)

High-level press releases would be not doable with the funding, but would be worth to do for hive IMO :)

Very cool to see. Funny that the first outlet on the list used to be my local news station when I lived around Allentown, PA! I believe even these simple releases could be quite effective. I know I first discovered “the legacy site which shall not be named” through a PR on a mainstream news site.

Exactly. We will send out PRs like this every thursday with them directly being mailed to Cointelegraph, Decrypt, etc.
Next up is Ecency. After that probably 3speak or something about Hive.
My hope is by the end of this period of 3 months we would have reached a thousand publications with this.
