The failures of HIVE will help second layer projects succeed // LEO, Splinterlands

Its been a few weeks now that i pretty much gave up on HIVE. Sure, i might shoot a tweet or two here and there but attempting to be involved from the sidelines, shooting suggestions or even writing about it in a futile attempt to raise some attention to issues is a thing of the past for me.

I think that a lot of people feel the same. The hierarchy structure on HIVE is very rigid and those that can attempt change are extremely inflexible to adopt anything.
There have been some really good ideas being shared by members of the community, some decent attempts at proposals, some related to marketing (we have 0 marketing). All falling on deaf ears because the inner circle cant hear anything outside their bubble.

Whats even funnier is them all waiting around for Blocktrades to do something and Blocktrades doesnt because "decentralization". He doesn't want to "take over" all while he is de facto in charge.😄

Its a classic case of "head up the ass syndrome".
Misguided beliefs constraining growth.

But...

Theres light at the end of this tunnel and that light comes from the second layer of HIVE. The attention in high degree has shifted away from HIVE to @leofinance and @splinterlands.
Many orcas, a few whales and very large number of HIVE dolphins i know have turned their attention to LEO as the platform that does, on the surface level, the exact same thing as HIVE, only better.

Sure there was a fuck up with the hack but enthusiasm and interest is still very high.
And that is where my point lies.
There is trust in LEO because the lead Developer has a vision, a goal, a roadmap, a focus on price growth, a focus on user growth and is showing everyone HOW he will do it.

Investors trust in that because its so very clear.
HIVE on the other hand is just drifting along in the vast expanse of the crypto market with no one at the wheel while the echo chamber rings to the words:

"Decentralization, decentralization, decentralization....."

Why not mention Splinterlands a bit as well. My first crypto investment i made, outside buying some Steem was into Splinterlands cards.
Ive been involved from the start and its fairly brilliant what @aggroed and @yabapmatt managed to build from a simple browser game at the start. Whats even more exciting is where they are taking this.On that some other time.
Now, ofc i dont agree with every move they make (more can be done with DEC😉) but ive been a supporter from day one.

What you need to know about Splinterlands even if you dont care about gaming, card games or any of that stuff is:
They know what they want to achieve and have an idea on how to achieve it!

Thats a continual theme in all this, isnt it?

That is what HIVE users gravitate towards.

Because of the second layer those that are emotionally attached to HIVE dont have to actually leave HIVE to get a sense of excitement and hope for a positive future. Something they do not get from the base layer.

Now, there are probably a few more things i could have talked about, a few more games like Rabona and Dcity but they have yet to prove themselves.
Even the new blockchain #Koinos built by former Steem devs got huge attention this week from Hivers because everyone craves standing behind something that might have a bright future.

Second layer, might be centralized, might lack layer 1 security, technically in the broadly accepted definition in crypto its not "actually" a second layer, lol, but its where the excitements at. 😉

Basically I believe Leo's success will benefit hive. Might be in the long time. Nevertheless Leo's doing nicely well. The ad revenue makes it sustainable. Hopefully the guys at the helm of governance on hive can start doing something.

It's not even completely done, yet, at least when it comes to the DApps. There are many highly annoying bugs. For example, I can't make top-level posts from any other web front end but Ecency. LeoFinance does not always show comments at all. Ecency does not allow my to edit my comments. I have to juggle many front ends to properly use Hive. I won't try and onboard anyone before the bugs are all sorted.

If fact the second layer does not need layer 1 level security because it partly relies on layer 1 to provide it for it.

Remember, without HIVE the other two don't exist. It's a symbiotic relationship, each with different goals and priorities, HIVE's being the foundations, which is no short order.

That's my thought too but in an almost opposite conclusion. Like The Mafia. The new bloods got into way more lucrative rackets. So ultimately they had to take out the old dinosaurs that didn't want change.

Business is still run just like the mob.
Loyally is powerful until it's a hindrance and a liability.

Maybe it's time to clean Hive house!

Its symbiotic in the sense HIVE was the origin and base to build on but very little, id say almost nothing, on the consumption side of things, about LEO or Splinterlands has to do with HIVE.

HIVE can act as that base layer but it will still continue to drop in MC until development of the base layer and securing it is pointless and waste of funds.
Being associated with Splinterlands or LEO will do nothing for it then.

The rewards pool for everyone comes from HIVE. The 'hard currency' itself is HIVE. Securing it is everything, for everybody.

Just relax bro.

TWITTER MADNESS will import a trillion users... any day now.

Seriously though, product just isn't there.

After the novelty of "COMMUNITY sticks it to SUN THE MONSTER" wore off, the opportunity to keep that buzz going also faded. I expected the marketing to really rally around that: COMMUNITY. But no. Instead, the community got clowned into becoming the slave marketing team. For peanuts. I mean for "poshtoken" which is actually less valuable than peanuts. Because it's a phantom.

Some funny clowns at the wheel here. Some got talent with code but no ability or desire to be voice. Others got voice but no clue about much else.
