Investing In Splinterland Land Plots

Since having a bit of time this week while the kids are school, I started to think about the land I invested within the Splinterlands game. The land was purchase towards the end of last year and I was lucky enough to win a plot of land and some totems from the raffle. Fast forward 5 months later, I start to wonder what potential this investment could become. I was lucky to be part of a pool to get my tract which at the time cost me around $850USD which is one of the biggest investment I have put forward in one hit for a game. So I started to venture out and check out other games out there that involves land.

Just browsing through the internet, there are loads of games that involve land and they do very well. One really good example is Alienworld on the Wax platform where Splinterlands also collaborate with. Alienworld recently have been listed on Binance and their income token prices have gone up the roof. Players get to mine these tokens from landowners and landowners take a cut/commission from the players each round. Thinking about this, I decided to check out how much one of these land costs today. The cheapest land I saw at the time of writing was 44000 WAX which is equivalent of $11651USD! Doing a quick search online land were selling back then for around 12570 WAX each. Crazy to think of it, it has grown nearly 4 times and the land owners are still getting their commissioning!

So thinking about the tract I bought for Splinterlands, this could turn out to be a something pretty cool. Not only as an investment point of view that it could potentially go up x5 or more, but the potential of the land producing some valuable goods to sell/trade in the game which will provide a nice income from it. At this stage, I am keeping all my cards as we are not sure what it involves to get the mining going but I would love to think that if we are able to rent it out or take a cut from each mine like Alien World, that would be pretty epic. The potentials are definitely there so we hope the game will play out as well or better than the ones that are already out there.

The totem will also be a game changer. Although we are not entirely sure what it does or how it will work, we are sure that to have one is better not to have one. After some reading on other games, I have huge faith that land within Splinterlands will change how things will be at the moment. I do hope the team can deliver as per roadmap so we can start using our land and make it a better and bigger game!

There is still time to get land on Splinterlands. Although the BAT discount just finished but $20 for a plot could have some potentials to gain more. If you are extra money, consider a tract (which I did get) or a region!
