A weekend of gaming and art(ing)

Howdy and welcome to the weekend!!

After yet another long work week it is finally here. Hmm, if I want to be negative about it - half of it is already over. But who in their right mind wants to be negative? So, half of the weekend is still ahead of me.

This weekend is going to mean some serious relaxation time for me. Actually, my weekend, kind of started yesterday, when I finished my workday a little early and had a wonderful massage. And when I got home just after 6 pm all I did was skim my work email and then shut down the laptop. Done! What followed was

The first round of gaming

Hubby and I are playing World of Warships (non-blockchain) together with a friend back in Germany. He is a night owl because we never start playing any earlier than 6 pm EST, which means it is midnight for him. In between i.e. when I was dead, but they were still alive, I played Splinterlands on my 2nd monitor. All in all, we only played a couple of hours yesterday, so our friend had an early night, 2 am 😝.

Friday night sushi!

For us, it was time to dig into dinner, and this actually a bit of a tradition for us. Sushi that got delivered from our favorite sushi place in the neighborhood. Our sushi restaurant even texts us when they have got a particular fresh specialty in. YUMMY! Great food & wonderful service!
And yes, there was more sushi than what you see here. And now it is all gone.

Weekend breakfast

Weekend mornings mean 'big' breakfast - that's another tradition, sitting together at the table, eating fresh homemade sourdough bread, maybe a breakfast egg - all the good stuff and we talk.

During summer having breakfast on our small balcony is a must. It's a thing we look forward to all week.

Today we had the most wonderful weather, so I was able to sit on the balcony and write this post on my laptop. A lot of times it is way too hot and humid for me to do that, even though our balcony is mostly shaded.

Art

Once I'm done with this post I think I will transition to some art. I have been working on a mermaid that somehow I seem to be unable to finish. I want it to be my first NFT art that I intend to make available on NFT Showroom, but we'll see when that will finally happen.

No doubt, there will also be a second and probably third round of gaming involved later today and tomorrow. Seriously guys, gaming and creating art are some of the most relaxing things for me. There are others, of course, but those are not always available. Hmm, more on all this in another post.

To not completely leave you hanging, here is the sketch of the mermaid that I was talking about. It is already colored and everything, but - just not finished.

Have an amazing weekend, All!

Can I ask you a personal question?

That sounds very ominous.

You know the saying: You can always ask, but...

I changed my mind and will just give you advice anyways, lol.

Judging from your content and the little I know about your context, I think you should make some babies :)

Lol - tried that years ago, but sadly it didn’t happen. Life sure would have taken a different path. Too late now, yup, dinosaur on the web 😊

I feel bad now for asking...

In your swimsuit pictures you do not look like a dinosaur.
I thought you were younger than me, actually.
Perhaps try adoption; Grown ups playing videogames (and especially World of Warships) makes me sad.

I was mulling over your comment and what to answer or if I should just let it go unanswered. It took me a while to decide to reply.
My photos, babies and my age - I have not shared a photo of myself here on Hive and I'm not sure I will. The swimsuit photos in an earlier post that you might be referring to are of Lauren Babree, a model. I'm a photographer. Guess, you just have to trust that I am too old to have a baby.
Gaming - Why be sad? Yes, there are better things to do in life, but there are also a lot worse things. Then there are circumstances. To me, gaming is about switching off from my stressful work when I only have a few minutes free time, about game art, and about talking (not text chatting) to the people I play with. I made real-life friends through it. In summary: Don't be sad for this grown-up 😃.

I should read people's posts properly, before trying to give them advice on how to live their lives.

@oceanbee The body of your artwork appears to be similar to the ginseng root. Was that your intention?

The Kingdom sends Blessings and some.......

Hahahaha - that is funny. No, it was not my intention, but now that I look at it - LOL - you are right, the sketch does look like ginseng :)
