Whether it's writing, sketching or drawing something out of your thoughts somehow relieves stress and can also avoid overthinking. Drawing is a chance to direct your attention toward something comforting when you need to find a way to escape from upsetting thoughts. Drawing, sketching, or coloring might help you to center yourself and calm your rushing thoughts. According to some experts, this mood may encourage creativity and emotional well-being by reducing stress.

Of course we want money as rewards or upvotes for our efforts here, but one of the most overlooked forms of compensation is the peace of mind; it is immensely gratifying to know that you are psychologically healthy. I occasionally draw realistic or graphite sketches, but I feel most at home creating works in the anime/manga art style. With that in mind, I attempt to create an anime version of the vampire bat from #splinterlands.

DRAWING PROCESS

My sketches always begin with sloppy lines, and the first thing I do is just sketch out a basic idea of what the final product would look like. On my first draft, I always utilize 2.0 hard point (pressure). My idea is to transform the vampire bat into a humanoid or human-like form because, in my opinion, that is how he would appear if made into a less creepy anime. In some ways, he resembles a draculaesk chibi—a adorable anime version with wings. In order to give off a slightly eerie vibe, I also sketched the Splinterlands logo on his chest and some ominous-looking leafless trees in the back.

Other digital artists just wipe up the muddy areas of their first sketch, which acted as their lineart, without adding a new layer or tracing their draft. To make it easier for me to make changes whenever I get a new idea, I usually place a layer on top of my draft.

The next stage would be to cover up the initial drawing and color the subject; I always place the coloring layer behind the lineart. Others fill larger regions with color using the select tool, but I typically just change the size of the pen tool to match the area to be colored.

The final steps would only be to give the subject some finishing touches by adding shadows, highlights, and minute details. I also added some misty backdrop textures and some tiny eerie trees. On Vampire Bat, I added some purple glow effects to match the original image.
