Sea Monster – Water Splinter

Introduction

Splinterlands is one of my favorite games on the Hive blockchain. It is worth all the effort when you know that you can enjoy yourself and make money playing the game. Yes, players win DEC each round of battle, and then there are quests and tournaments. The possibilities of winning and earning are innumerable. That’s what makes this game one of the best.

Today we will be looking at Sea Monster, one of the melee attack monsters from the Water Splinter. I like the card for its self-heal ability, which allows it to sustain major attacks and continue its offensive. It is one of the few cards which is worth its mana cost. I mean, for eight mana cost, you get a monster with eight health and four attack stats. That makes it formidable to put down. The surprise, though, is that even such a card is quite economical to buy. So, don’t fret if you cannot get it in a pack, as it costs just $0.028 per card. At the moment, a level 10 card is available for roughly around $19, which makes it cheaper than a Splinterlands land plot.

Let’s look at the Sea Monster in battle. That will give us a good picture.

Sea Monster in Battle

Scene 1

Incidentally, I had the water splinter quest in my daily quests, so I was already battling to glory with the Sea Monster. The Sea Monster is my tank of choice, and here you can see my lineup.

Both the Sea Monster and the Water Elemental are self-healers, so my first and last cards are capable of healing themselves. The only issue with the Sea Monster is that it has the slowest of speeds, which means big continuous hits from the opponent’s monsters can take it down even before it heals. Hence, I have placed it in the second spot over here.

Scene 2

Obviously, the Furious Chicken was the scapegoat over here, as it bore the first few attacks. The armor helped. The opponent’s tank is also a good one, the Serpent of Eld, which can cause few misses. Despite that, the Chicken took a few blows before bringing the Sea Monster to the front.

By that time, my Ice Pixie had dealt a few blows on the opponent’s Serpent.

Scene 3

The Serpent continued to have its shield when my Sea Monster faced off with it. It was only after a couple of attacks did we reach the above screen. By then, it was clear that the opponent’s tank was going down. And that is what happened.

Once the Serpent was gone, the opponent’s field was wide open for the Sea Monster to destroy. Mind you, the Sea Monster was self-healing and hence still at respectable health of four.

Scene 4

And that’s it. That was wrapped up with the Ice Pixie taking one health out of the Naga Windmaster while the final blow was left to the Sea Monster. Notice that the Sea M has gained back health to 5. The next shot after this one was the Monster finishes off the Naga.

And that’s how I won the game.

Do I Use the Sea Monster, often?

Yes. It was not one of the readily available cards when I started, but I saw the opponents’ using it. Invariably, it would outlast my Goblin Mech, which itself is quite a strong tank. So, I had to get on to the market and buy it. And I don’t regret the decision even one bit.

All my games involving Water Splinter will surely be using the Sea Monster. If you want to join the fun, you can do so here:

Thanks for sharing! - @ashikstd

Well done with both the post and the battle.
You had a nice lineup, it seemed.
Keep on battling.
