Splinterlands Art | Week 121 | Half Faced Pirate
What’s This Article About?
Well, this article is covering the art contest hosted by Splinterlands. Splinterlands happens to be one of the most engaging games on the Hive blockchain. While the game itself is fun, the team goes above and beyond in creating excitement. Art is one of the fun times on Splinterlands and the Hive blockchain.
And there are many more contests to keep you drooling all through. If you fancy participating in the art contest, you can do so here.
But first, what is Splinterlands all about? Let’s find out before getting on with the art. 😊
What Game is Splinterlands?
Well, it is one of the earliest blockchain-based collectible games. Though I started playing the game quite late, I should have had gotten going early in hindsight. Anyway, no need to despair. There are so many opportunities no matter when you start.
Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn on the cards. It is one of the most generous games that I have seen where cards, potions, Dark Energy Crystals (DEC. Cryptocurrency) are given out every day to thousands of players for just playing and winning daily quests. And there are tournaments or guilds that you can join.
Just to give you an idea of a few of the uber-expensive cards, take a look at this recent purchase of Prince Julian at USD 3500.

Let’s get on with the Contest, then?
So, I’ve imagined how a ghostly pirate would fit into a character on Splinterlands. And here is my interpretation.
So, let’s go.
The Drawing Coming to Life
Step 1: The Outline
I outlined here as I got ready to give life to the pirate.
Step 2:
Then I drew the eyes, broken nose, and lips.
Time to give our pirate his hat. That's what I did below.
I firmed up the outline thereafter.
Step 3:
Some colors gave the pirate that sinister look, or did it? :) In fact, I used just red color.
Hmm.. Interesting look, isn’t it? I guess so. 😊

really cool work! it would be interesting to digitize this piece!
Thank you! I have no clue how to digitize. Maybe that's something I got to learn.
It's preaty easy. You need "Vector Magic" software. Select your image there. Then choose necessery colors and you will get vectorized image (.ai or .svg). Then convert it online (easiest way) to .jpg.
Oh, Alright. Let me try it out.
that way you can get high resolution image for posters, T-shirts and other printable stuff)
