Passive Income with Splinterlands (Weekly Social Media Post)

I have been pondering if I would post about my daily hours playing and trading cards in Splinterlands for a while, because I felt this would be bad publicity. Then again I been trying to figure out ways to make a steady income through the use of the card rental system in place my @peakmonster. In order to grow a decent income I knew I had to invest in many cards and since I started focusing on rentals I spent most of my savings over the months in summoners at mostly level 3 and 4. They are not too expensive and can be rented out quite easily as demand for them are high. I even put out very competitive rates in hopes of having enough renters to be willing to rent the cards long term. This has provided me a steady stream of Hive that I can reinvest into more cards and build up my Hive.blog wallet.

This post is focused on @peakmonster's system of rental and how players from beginners to advance players can find cards for rent. This feature is useful on multiple levels.

Passive Income or Supplemental Income

  1. It provides a supplemental income for investing in Splinterland cards. Not many crypto card games do you see where cards can be rented out for free or at a price set by the lender. The passive income earned will depend on how much renters are willing to pay. Usual rule is the higher the level and higher the rarity the higher the price earned when rented.

Furthermore NFTs that can be rented out but still held ownership by lender is one of the first for Splinterlands. For players who have been using this lending feature on @peakmonsters they know first hand how useful the feature really is. The cards can be shared to other players to play while maintaining a value to them since they are use. The rental system overall helps maintain and even raise the value of cards as they are seen as a way to earn passive income.

NFTs Rentals / Crypto Card Rentals

Before Defi was a thing or even NFT tokens, the game Splinterlands had third party entrepreneurs develop ways to rent cards out and collect a lender fee. All the lender had to do was select cards they wish to rent and for how much and how long. Renters then go on the peakmonster website and can access the rental market for selecting the cards to rent.

Players only need to have a Hive account to gain access to peakmonster's database. Then if they wish to rent or buy cards on the platform they would have assets such as DEC and Credit that can be used to rent and buy cards. The rental system requires players to have direct deposits of assets onto the peakmonster's platform. The assets are safely stored and can be access for use 24/7. One key point is when players withdraw from peakmonsters they are reminded that their hive wallets must have at minimum 0.001 Hive or 0.001 HBD in order for it function.

Sharing the Prosperity of Splinterlands

When the game was first created I believe the idea of lending cards out was to allow players who wish to keep the cards while allowing other players such to use them the developers designed a lending feature on the cards. Basically card owners could lend what ever card they wanted to any other player they so chose. This allowed the spread of sharing the game to new players easily or to help players develop more and earn more reward cards when more experience players lend out cards to lower level and or less experience players. To this day it has continued on and thanks to the game's dedicated discord channel players are able to get access to discuss and share cards.

Peakmonsters Rental System

On the peakmonster platform users can go to the market and pick cards to rent as shown in diagram above. When the "Rent" button is selected user can see cards at individual cards based off of level and price to rent. There is an escrow fee for most cards which is a 50/50 split fully paid by renter and at end of card rental will split payment half to renter and half to lender. If either renter or lender breaks the rental contract the full payment is received by the recipient who held on to the contract.

Here are some of my rentals and notice they are fire sale rent prices!!!

For rents that are un-highlighted and it means they have a waiting period before use hence not recommended to be rented as renter will have to wait for cool down to expire before use. The game developers designed cards to have a 7 day cool down to avoid the use of a card by multiple users on the same day.

I have plenty more of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:

Thanks for sharing! - @marianaemilia

Yeah! The possibility of renting the cards is, for me, one of the most brilliant things about this game. I urgently need to enter peakmonsters to place more competitive prices as you do, as I am not able to rent many. Thank you for the tips. Now a tip from me: You could have used the leofinance tag in this post to earn LEO tokens, since it talks about investment.
