Splinterlands - Diversifying my assets on each Splinter (Weekly Post)

With less than 24 hours remaining for the end of a another season I have been trying to push through to Champion I ranking. I have been unsuccessful so far. Came close a few times...

I will have to play some more after finishing this post ;)

This post I try to focus on how to make my deck stronger and be more competitive. Currently I consider my deck as a low middle of the pack with level 4 summoners. I only have one max monster and lent to me are a couple of fire max monsters and a fire max summoner. Overall my monster collection mostly fall in middle of the pack.

The break down of my decks per splinter excluding summoners is as follows. I broke out the % based on the sum of the value of the cards rather than stats.

Dragon is my lowest which makes sense since primarily its really the five splinters that have most of the cards. The Dragon splinter to me is more in itself a supplement to the other five. What is kind of surprising is my lack of investing into the earth splinter. Water and death have a substantial amount of total price of the collection so I will likely take a pose in those two and try to spend more toward my earth splinter. My life and fire splinters are in the middle of the pack.

The reason I excluded my summoners was because I have multiple of the same levels for some of the splinters and this would have off set the overall denominator. What I am going to focus on are obtaining more Untamed cards while cards are still cheap while DEC prices have risen.

The main reasons why I want to even divide my assets among the five mains splinters are as follows:

Perform better on daily quests and tournaments. Often in daily quests the objectives are random so any of the splinters would need to be utilize at a moment's notice.

I always like diversification whether its in life or in games. Having an even investment in each splinter allows me to minimize my reliance on just a few when I can have full advantage of the whole. Often reward cards earned and sales of cards I see are random to the point that it would make for a poor investment for me if I neglected all the opportunities with the use of all the splinters. Of course this can also be a drawback where I diversify in to too many splinters that I am unable to compete at higher levels because it takes more capital in a diversified collection to maintain and upgrade.

Another drawback with even distribution of investing is often certain splinter's cards are simply not used much in battles. For example daily quests could go on a streak where life splinter is not required for multiple days in a row. Then not only are my summoners and monsters of the life splinter not used I had to pay an upfront cost to have them in my collection but mostly doing nothing.

In conclusion whether one like to focus on one splinter versus investing in all splinters each as its pros and cons. In the end I am happy to play the game and will continue to grow and in hopes make a better balance in investments within my collection.

I keep it more like you and diversify into all splinters and editions. Also, I see the game as a collector, where I want to have as many of the cards as high as possible. It feels nice to own these digital assets.
