Today I am gonna review one of most awesome supporting abilities in splinterlands; Cleanse.

Cleanse ability removes all negative buffs on the friendly monster upfront.

With new battle rules giving all monsters negative buffs(e.g. Noxious Fumes) and new negative buffs(e.g. Cripple) introduced, the importance of Cleanse ability have increased many folds.

Currently there are seven monsters and one summoner in splinterlands with cleanse ability. Among seven cleanse monsters two belong to Water, one belong to Fire, three Belong to Life and one belong to Dragon splinter. The only summoner with Cleanse ability is the legenderay Earth Summoner.

Life splinter is packed with Cleanse monsters, may be because of being Life splinter. Death splinter has no Cleanse monster at all.

When talking about Cleanse ability, SCARRED LLAMA MAGE deserves a special mention. SCARRED LLAMA MAGE the fifth legendary untamed summoner, Cleanses all 1st position friendlies each round. It is currently selling like hot cakes, being the second most costliest summoner in its class. Currently it is selling at 16.5$/bcx.

`Placement`

Cleanse ability monsters should be placed in back ranks well protected so that they can survive longer to continue Cleansing each round.

`Usage`

Cleanse ability comes pretty handy in Noxious Fumes Rule healing the 1st monster continuously. Also cleanse works great against summoners and monsters that grants negative buffs like Poison, Affliction, Slow, Silence, Rust, Blind, Snare and Demoralize.

Cleanse works best against MIMOSA's Affliction and LIR's Blind Buffs.

`Favorite Cleanse Monsters/Summoner`

SCARRED LLAMA MAGE is the only Summoner with Cleanse so when looking for Cleanse its the best option(especially in high mana battles).

As far as Cleanse monsters are concerned, my favorites are KELP INITIATE, SILVERSHIELD BARD and HERBALIST.

`Cost`

HERBALIST and KELP INITIATE are Cheapest Cleanse providers currently, costing 0.02$/BCX and 0.05$/BCX respectively. SCARRED LLAMA MAGE is the most costly one when it comes to Cleanse ability costing 16.5$/BCX.

`Complementing Abilities`

It is better to Complement Cleanse ability monsters with other positive buffs, helping them survive longer. Few useful complementing abilities are Protect, Triage and Taunt.

`DEMO`

`Demo Battle # 1`

In this Battle with Noxious Fumes ruleset, I used SILVERSHIELD BARD's Cleanse ability to effectively free my tank from Poison. CHAIN GOLEM survived till last thanks to the Cleanse, which gave me the edge eventually.
