Splinterlands: My Dice Cards Collection Strategy

Evening Splinterlands

Dice editions have been in the open for quite some time now and, yet I have rarely encountered dice cards in battles. My take, there may be several reasons for that. One, in lower leagues earnings are too low to allow investment in costly dices. Once you climb up to champions league, the earnings increase and dices encounters become more frequent. Second, people are less inclined to invest in dices when there are so many other exciting things happening around e.g. lands presale. Third, with so many beta, promo and reward edition cards quickly getting out of print there is a fomo among folks, keeping dices out of focus. Fourth, is the higher price of DEC. DEC have been skyrocketing for quite some time now due to land presale, so naturally lesser people are willing to buy the 2760 dec worth dice pack.

Still stacked up in gold league, my asperations for the higher league have made me to start slowly investing in dices. Like with any newly introduced edition, I am currently acquiring dice card selectively instead of going for packs, as packs are far costly and risky. First on the priority list are the dice summoners, as some of them are pretty badass.

Dice Summoners

My favorite dice summoners are Mylor Crowling and Owster Rotwell. Mylor Crowling offers a distinct advantage in Up Close & Personal, due to Thorns ability. It is currently going at 1.48$/bcx in open market. That is pretty high for a rare summoner by any standards. I am slowly buying Mylor Crowling when opportunity presents.

Owster Rotwell offers a nice advantage in Keep Your Distance ruleset, due to Magic reflect ability. I have already decently upgraded Owster Rotwell to level-5. Owster is currently trading at 0.62$/bcx.

Dice Monsters

Although dice summoners are my priority but I still dig some cool dice monsters(legendaries) e.g. Cthulhu, Poseidon and Caladuum. I love these because of the unique Cripple and Immunity abilities. Dice lagendaries are currently going on at a reasonable price for around 5$/bcx.
