Splinterlands Share your Battle Weekly Challenge - DRAGONS!

image.png

The challenge for this week is to unleash the mighty power of the Dragons on the battlefield. There is a certain Dragon Summoner I love to use especially when there is a high mana battle and magic monsters are allowed.

About Delwyn Dragonscale

Delwyn Dragonscale is a dragon summoner which is part of the Promo category. The summoner grants +1 Magic Damage to the team which makes it compatible with a lot of magic focus team composition. The regular foil card is currently $6.360 in the market while the Gold Foil Card is around $93.00 on the market. The price for this card is definitely expensive considering that this card is very limited and currently the only way to own this card is by purchasing it on the marketplace or by renting it as well.

The figure above shows the complete guide of the card levels that this summoner can be supported for every rarity on the battlefield. It can only deploy level 1 monsters at level 1 regardless of its rarity. The level limit does increase as the level of this summoner goes up and for me I think that leveling up this summoner to Level 4 would be enough to effectively use higher level monster cards on the battle.

My Battle

This is the ranked battle I want to share where I deploy a magic damage focus team with Delwyn Dragonscale, you can also watch this battle by clicking the link below.

The Ruleset

Back to Basics

image.png

There is only one ruleset for this battle which is Back to Basics. This rule basically removes all the abilities on every monster on the battlefield. This rule favors a lot with Magic Damage focus team since that lineup can deal good damage to opponents even if the target monster has a high amount of shield.

My Lineup

Summoner: Delwyn Dragonscale

image.png

I used Delwyn Dragonscale as my summoner for this battle. It gives +1 magic damage to the team and it is the appropriate summoner to use to the magic damage focus team from the water element that I am planning to use for this battle.

Monster 1 : Djinn Chwala

image.png

I used another dragon element card for this battle which is Djinn Chwala. It is one of my favorite cards in the dragon element since it is very durable and it's thorns ability is very useful in the battle. However the thorns ability is not available for this match so I place this card in the first position for tank duty.

Monster 2 : Elven Defender

image.png

I also used another durable card for this battle which is Elven Defender. It has a decent amount of damage that has shield and good amount of health. Just like Djinn Chwala, it's purpose is to serve as a frontline for my Magic damage monsters at the back.

Monster 3 : Djinn Oshannus

image.png

This is one of my favorite cards in the game. It is very powerful with 2 Magic Damage at the same time it has a huge amount of health and speed. It also has a void ability which reduces all incoming magic damage attacks which is also not applicable for this match.

Monster 4 : Nerissa Tridawn

image.png

Next one is Nerissa Tridawn which is also one of my favorite cards not only on the Chaos Legion set but also in the whole game. It deals more magic damage than Djinn Oshannus but more costly to used. With the buff from my summoner this monster will deal 4 magic damage to the opponents every turn.

Monster 5 : Magi of Chaos

image.png

I also used Magi of Chaos for this battle. It is a straightforward card that deals 2 Magic Damage and has a decent amount of health. I've put this behind Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn so it can last longer in the battle

Monster 6 : Sea Genie

image.png

Lastly I put my Sea Genie in the last position since this card is the most vulnerable among the magic damage monsters I used in this battle and I want to utilize it's 3 Magic Damage with the buff from my summoner.

ROUND 1

image.png

During the first round I was able to take down the opponent's Haunted Spirit. My Djinn Chwala did a good job in taking all the damage from the enemy units and was able to survive through this round.

ROUND 2

image.png

On the second round my Djinn Chwala was taken down however my team manage to take down the opponent's Prismatic Energy and Sandworm on that round. The massive magic damages from my team gives me a huge advantage heading to the next round.

ROUND 3

image.png

This round was the turning point of this battle. I've taken down the Phantom Soldier and Dhampir Stalker which gives me a 4 to 1 advantage which should be concluded to the fourth and final round.

ROUND 4

image.png

This round was just for formalities there is no way for the enemy's Octopider to deal any damage at all and a few magic damages hits from my team is enough to secure this victory .

The Dragon element is very interesting to use in ranked battles since there are many possible combinations that can be build using that element. For this battle I've used Dragon and Water elements to create my lineup that is composed of magic damage dealers. The mana and ruleset for this battle favors my team since the mana cost to create this team is quite high and the back to basic rule is advantageous towards range and magic damage monsters. There are other combinations I want to try using different dragon summoner and I hope that I'll get that opportunity soon.
