This Element is down to Earth

For what it is worth, Earth Elemental is probably the least used monster in my deck. Honestly, if it weren't for this week's challenge, I probably wouldn't have even used it at all in my team completely.

The Battle

Link to battle

This was one of those hopeless battles that you go into and you're left looking from the sidelines as your team displays hopelessness.

The Summoner

Picking this summoner seemed like my only option. This wizard is among the recently developed Untamed summoners that I boosted to level 5. I figured taking out the opponent's shield would increase my chances of doing damage with my Melee tank and ranged elemental.

it turned out the summoner was effective, however, everything else, was, well, crap. I mean, what's the point in taking out the shield if you can't even touch the opposition?

The Tank

The preferred tank for this battle was the stone golem because of its shield ability. I had a healer available for potential magic hits, and with +2 melee attack, I figured it would do some damage as well.

The opposition's tank had other ideas, very elusive ones as well. Because I couldn't lay as much as a finger on it due to its dodge ability.

Elemental

The plan for the Earth elemental was for it to be sort of a shield for the healer princess. It did its job, to an extent but again, just like the Golem, it was useless against that Cocatrice.

Healer Princess

It is not every time you get royalty in your Splinterlands battle team but today, I actually had one. I upgraded this lady to level 5 to harness her healing ability. She's also literally the only monster in my deck that actually did its job, with all things considered.

Angry Bird

The angry bird was at the back and was also supposed to be a protector for the princess against sneak. There wasn't any sneak monster in play. It was also pretty useless at the end of the day.

It didn't work out

I lost this battle hands down. It is a very painful one to accept, knowing that a small tweak in the personnel would have actually won this battle.

Perhaps using my mushroom seer that uses magic the cocatrice can't dodge for example. I would have placed the Earth Elemental as the tank, used the furious chicken in the second position and then keep mushroom see and Khmer princess behind the pack. This team would have easily won the match.

In battles like these, you learn how tiny variations in the team and personnel can make the difference.

Thanks for sharing! - @rehan12

Sorry to hear, you do not use Earth Elemental that often. While I suppose at higher level it does comes in handy. In addition to that, the Cocatrice really got the game. I hate it when it happens to me and I have to go with so many misses. But yeah, a nice chance to get Coca and know it's use case by going through the battles. All the best for the next game!
