It has been a very active week for me, with new challenges I am taking on especially in the area of digital design and art. Of course I am very excited to participate again in a new Challenge called by @splinterlands and @carrieallen, although I must confess, it was not easy to battle with the "Child of The Forest" letter and later in the course of what is this publication I will explain why.

First of all, the Earth Splinter is not among my favorites when it comes to battles, since it is not my strongest deck and my card "Child of The Forest" doesn't have enough level to face much stronger enemies, in order to last a little longer in battle and be really useful to me. Still, I had enough patience to wait for a good opportunity so I could somehow last longer on the field and of course win the contest.

Now let's get to know this letter in depth, come with me...

This is a card with a very high speed from its level 1, it is a born hunter of the forest, not only for its speed, but for the skills it possesses, which can neutralize even the monsters that are out of reach, which are the flying ones. For his summoning in the field, only 3 mana is required, he is a very useful monster to use in very demanding battles with very little mana and thanks to his native skill of "Snipe", he has in his sights those opponent's cards that have magical attacks and / or rank, additional skill called "Snare", which removes from flying monsters their ability to fly, leaving them fully exposed to ground attacks. We must be very aware of what kind of battles to use it in and which of these would be more useful to us, in order to use its potential to 100%.

Delwyn Dragonscale

As my ground team is not the best of all and not the strongest of my Splinters, I had to use my Dragon summoner, in order to use some good level cards that I have in that Dragon team, still, my strategy was to use a lot of magic power to end the health of my opponent's cards quickly, and additionally use a card to weaken his rank line of attack with my "Child of The Forest".

Gelatinous Cube

Due to the rules of battle, I could not use any melee monster to be my tank, so my strategy was to use a monster with a lot of life in front as my "Gelatinous Cube" to give some time to the rest of my cards, to attack their tank and in turn weaken their bottom line little by little.

Gold Dragon

My second card should also have a very good amount of life in order to be a good backup tank, this was what I thought according to my strategy and that's why I chose my "Gold Dragon" to be in the second position, also with its great magic attack power from its level 1, it was going to allow me, not only to give me time for my cards to attack, but also to attack my opponent's tank with its great power to defeat my opponent as fast as possible.

Spirit Miner

The perfect card for third position was undoubtedly my "Spirit Miner". Thanks to his skills I thought that if my opponent used cards with the "Snipe" skill with rank attack, my "Spirit" would have a high chance of dodging these attacks because of his native "Dodge" skill, too, This was a great addition to my attack team as his second skill called "Swiffness", increased the speed of each of my cards, which allowed me to counteract the skill of his background card called "Boogeyman" which returns slow to the rest of my team, not to mention his high magic attack power and average health.

Serpentine Mystic

My previous card increased the speed of all my monsters by counteracting the "Slow" ability of his card, but in my strategy I thought of using my "Serpentine Mystic" to also decrease the speed of his cards, thanks also to his "Slow" ability, this allowed me to increase my chances of success in battle by gaining the advantage in attack speed, where in turn, he could also attack with his two magic attack points needed to be able to destroy his tank faster.

Child Of The Forest

The main attack of all my cards were directed to my opponent's tank, however, there are cards that make a difference in the battle, taking advantage of his skills and weakening his baseline attack, that's why I used my "Child of the Forest" and his "Snipe" skill, in order to do the same, weakening his baseline little by little, so that the rest of my monsters could destroy my opponent's cards faster. Even though my "Child" only had one hit point, it can make the difference between winning and/or losing a battle, so I was able to take full advantage of my card's ability and win the fight.

Fire Spitter

The last card of my lineup and the protection of my baseline, thanks to his ability to fly, my strategy was, that my opponent could use cards with the ability of "Sneak" with magical attacks and / or rank, if this is possible, if he attacks me with axe throwers, could more likely avoid these attacks, This was clear in the worst case, but since one of the rules was that melee monsters could not be used in battle, I was sure that my card would prevail until the end and thanks to its 3 point attack power and good speed, it would allow me to destroy my opponent more quickly and effectively.

In an effective way, my strategy worked well, my idea was that my cards would prevail the most time in the field, so that my baseline could continue to attack, also a key piece of my strategy was to increase the attack speed of my cards and decrease those of my opponent, this gave me a great advantage without doubt in the fight.

The truth is that I am not a big fan of the ground team, besides as I said before it is not one of my strongest Splinters, however, thanks to these challenges I have been able to learn from every Splinter in the game, both from all their strengths and weaknesses, I think this will allow me to keep winning as many battles as possible to be a better player in the game.

image.png

I don't really use it very often because my strongest Splinters are Death, Fire, Water and Dragon, but that doesn't mean, that in the future I can perhaps build a good attack and/or defense team with the Earth Splinter and strengthen my deck in a general way, in order to be able to fulfill each daily mission in an easier way.
