DIY: My First Autodesk Art // A Princess Character

avatar

I don't even wanna start sharing with you guys the tales of how I disliked Autodesk sketchbook for reasons best known to me and how difficult or technical I thought the software was.
My joy today is that I could make use of the same software I hated some years back and that I am getting to understand most of its features and the function of some brushes and tools.
I am still yet to be perfectly acquainted with it but with time I believe I would get a hang of some things if not everything.

So for my sketch today, I decided to recreate a princess although I didn't use the reference photo for this, I only just imagined it to look like the princess after giving my sketch a similar color and looks, like that of the princess.
And the princess I am talking about is Princess Jasmine in the cartoon or animation ALADDIN.
Initially, I had nothing in mind when I was drawing. I only later chose the color of the dress based on the picture of that cartoon I had in mind and if I could remember very well, the princess's color is always blue and yellow. So I chose my princess's color based on that too but this isn't really princess Jasmine as in the cartoon.
It's just a character I recreated from my imagination.

I started with the plain outline sketch. I went further to add the colors to the vital part that needed coloring. And then after this was where the real work began. The most tedious process is always in the finishing part where you have to give the art some proportion, highlights, and shadows. Filling up the little spaces you missed while adding colors, smoothing the edges, and lining them better. And then choose a fitting background color, style, and pattern for your work if you wanna use a plain background.
It took me close to 48 hours to finish this and that is because I didn't work on it for the whole two days but I had other things to do in between.
What I specifically love most about this sketch is the hair. I have a thing for lovely hair, a special love for it and I always take my time to work on the hair each time I make any artwork, it's my best part of sketching or drawing🤩🥰

I have a little walkthrough of the process of my work. Do well to glance through it below. Take a quick look and tell me how best I can improve too.
Because to be sincere, I am still an amateur artist and I need some professional guide as much too.😁

It's another lovely week to participate in the @splinterlands art contest, and this is my entry.
My eyes are already popped out and my jaws dropped with the amazing art I have seen so far lol.

My skilful friend, this is so beautiful 🥰.

Keep doing the good job 👍.

I think I would love to research more on Autodesk. Just a quick one: is it use only for sketch works and drawing of cartoons?

Yes, it's just for digital sketches and painting.
Thank you!
