Yes, I entered Splinterlands for 2 months without renting any card (how stupid i'm)
So I pretty much relied on these monsters to win the matches :)
The rentals system has only been there for about 2 weeks, so please don't blame yourself too much about not renting cards right away after you joined. 😅
No, the rental system v.1 is already available for a time. The upgraded rental system which is released 2 weeks ago allows us to use DEC for renting.
If you mean renting cards via #PeakMonsters or #MonsterMarket, I have already been aware of those since I joined #Splinterlands, though I did not use them because I don't want to keep track of my DEC/HIVE/HBD on multiple wallets. 😅
