Thoughts on Growing Membership

I have an idea. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've thought about it and think I've just decided to seek permission to test it.

There's an investigative journalist who's work I follow I'd like to get into Hive, but I haven't been able to dazzle him enough to give it a look. I did create an account for him and secure his name on the chain. I haven't checked lately but I imagine he hasn't changed the keys.

I'm thinking of asking his permission to link his work into hive under his account, link his tweets to dapplr, things like that.

If he's ok with it I'll try to dedicate a little bit of time each day or at the very least weekly, to updating. Once his followers and holdings grow large enough I'll have his attention.

How about that? Everyone pick one person who's work you follow and you can likely reach via twitter and start an account in their name. Reach out and tell them you've done it and would like to transfer it over to them so they can begin earning additional income on their posts.

If they don't show interest ask to post their work on their behalf.
Until they take over the account leave the funds alone, but periodically update them on how much they have sitting there and use the opportunity to remind them of the benefits of staking.

Any one see any flaws or have anything to add? I'd like to hear it!

As long as you can get him to make a post on another site like twitter verifying you have his permission to repost his work on Hive and dapplr it should be ok.

Yeah I'm not gonna take any liberties at all. Just seek permission to copy/paste only what he puts out.

The point, though, is in addition to trying to appeal to the masses, maybe focused marketing specific tools/benefits to specific people who are seeking something just like Hive, anyway, whether they know it or not may help boost numbers.

I'm not fan of Alex Jones, and I hope no one invites him, but if one were the censorship resistance would be all that's needed, whereas an artist may be more interested in something like dsound.

Regardless, it seems easier to appeal to a few people with specific interests than to everyone with attention all over the place, so maybe that’s worth consideration.
