I think that this song

is pretty close to being finished as far as actual harmonic/melodic sections, and mapping the general instrumentation. I spent a while last night fixing up the percussion tracks, adjusting velocities and volumes, and adding some extra little hits throughout. They were actually supposed to sound more like toms or big marching band bass drums, but again, I mixed this with laptop speakers, so I didn't discover how different they sounded till I listened in my car, lol. So, I guess that leaves me a few tiny changes before I 'master' things, but I don't think I'll make another post, as it wouldn't be enough to really write about.

Listen to Life Magic Version 3 here.

I went through and fixed

all the harmonies, as certain parts were not lined up perfectly, so the changes feel a bit more obvious and less muddied. I also added Track 15, an organ, which isn't really audible on its own, but provides some little dissonances at one point that just add a sort of tension in the song. I was surprised it worked, as I couldn't really pick it out of the mix, but it definitely provides a sudden tense moment that feels very satisfying when released. I also replaced the french horns with a tuba, though its playing in a super high register, which gives it sort of flute-y vibe; the timbre is different enough from the actual flutes to make it stand apart though.

Track 15, New Organ track.

Hope you like the changes! I think the next post about this song will have a final version, so stay tuned!
