'The Magi Sphinx' - Original Music - A Throwback Tune, Inspired by Splinterlands - Orchestral/Instrumental

that I can really justify using for a post, so I figured I'd try and work on some tonight and see what happens, but in the meantime, go with a throwback tune. Previous times I've done these throwback posts, I've used REAL throwbacks, from 15 or or more years ago. Mostly these are songs I wrote in high school, and recorded in some roundabout, weird way, as I knew little to nothing about digital recording/production. There are even some songs recorded on some external digital recording device that a friend of mine had, which cost probably 2 - 300 dollars. It was such a big deal then, and seemed so high tech, but looking back was a total piece of garbage, and frankly was lower quality than just recording into the built in mic on my laptop of that era, lol.

any of those really old songs, and instead pick a tune from about 2 years ago, which was inspired by Splinterlands. At the time, I was not yet on the Splinterlands team, and was submitting songs for the (what were at the time) Weekly Writing/Music Challenges, hosted by Isaria. This was one of a series of songs in which I used Ableton's orchestral packs. I still really like the harmonic progressions, and the general idea of the song, though it's hard to listen to the MIDI strings now, as I've gained access to MUCH better string samples. I was thinking I'd find these Ableton session files on my hard drive, and try and update them using the Spitfire BBC Orchestra sounds; it would be a bit of a project, but I think it'd be a lot of fun to have updated, much nicer sounding versions of these tunes. If I do this, I'll be sure to share them here!
