'Upon the Peak (Stringed)' - New Original Music - Expanding on Yesterday's Song Idea! Orchestral/Instrumental + Walkthrough!

I continued to work on

the idea I shared yesterday, and figured I'd give it the name I originally intended. I wanted it to have a sort of medieval sound, which I think the relatively simple harmonic motion conveys. It moves between parallel major and minor keys, light and dark, so I thought the Peakrider might be a good choice for the inspiration; he is a good guy, fighting for Life, but also seems a bit scary, and clearly powerful. I added 4 new instruments, including some timpani, which wound up filling in the low-end nicely. I kept the rhythm a bit sparse, with the intent to add some other percussion as I work on it more.

Listen to Upon the Peak here.

Track 12 is the first

new addition, an English Horn from Ableton's orchestral sets. It comes in over the second half of each 'A' section, along with the timpani, to fill it in a bit more, and differentiate a bit from the first half. Track 13 is a concert flute, which leads us out of that 2nd half A part and into the B section. Track 14 is the timpani, which is also used over the 2nd A section each time, and each B section. Finally, we have Track 15, the bass trombones, which are possibly going to replaced; I like the harmonic idea, something simple, just to add another texture, but the actual samples that Ableton used for the staccato articulation are a bit digital/fake sounding, so I'll try and find a viable alternative.

Track 13, Concert Flutes.

Hope you like the additions! I'm going to keep working on this, and maybe expand it a bit with a 3rd section, so we'll see what happens!
