What Came First

The Chicken Or The EGG?


This has been a mystery since the beginning of time and today we finally got our answer. As some of you know some of the Steemmonsters rewards cards have gone out of print. Which means the only way to get your hands on them is to buy them individually on the Splinterlands market place or in a private sale.

These out of print cards have seen a surge in currency value. For example not that long ago Lord Arianthus could have been purchased for under $1. Today that same card will cost you a good $10.

With cards going out of print the Steemmonsters team needed to replace them with new cards (which can be seen below). One of these cards is a chicken and likely will be one of the most played cards in the Steemmonsters game. The reasoning for me saying that is because it cost 0 Mana to play. This card was introduced as a rare but I think it could of easily been a legendary due to the 0 Mana cost it has.

  1. Flame Imp (rare)
  2. Hobgoblin (rare)
  3. Mushroom Seer (rare)
  4. Lord Arianthus (legendary)

So there we have it folks, It was the chicken that came first as we have yet to see an EGG in the Steemmonsters game but as the saying goes, "You never know what the future holds", so one day we may very well get one. After-all that chicken had to come from somewhere.

I was so excited when I opened my DQ reward, about half an hour before the season ended, and found a Naga Windmaster :0)
Like a kid in a candy store, lol.

Time will tell if the new cards are just another set of Rusty Androids or Hobgoblins, or will be killers like the Mushroom Seer

Same here, I couldn't wait to open my rewards. I wanted that 0 MANA chicken the most and low and behold the very first card I flip is the Chicken :)

I was lucky enough to hit the new legendary as well. It wasn't a gold foil but It'll do!

Its possible in the real word the Egg came first but here in Splinterland it was the Chicken :)

of course not the chicken came first. it was evolved from the other birds and can't able to fly coz her environment don't need her to fly..

Nah! Steem monsters are monstrous and have twisted the story with a faulty logic!

It's the egg who came first ...that's it!

But since SM launched this chicken now, they need to come out with a rooster card in order to set the couple in production mode.
