Planning for Steemfest 4

Steemfest 4 in Bangkok is supposed to be a fairly easy decision to make. Just 2.5 hours flight, it is hard to miss this event especially since we had made a 15 hours flight to Krakow for last year's Steemfest. Bangkok is also a much more familiar place and everything there is cheaper compared to Europe.

Steem Price

Many friends in Asia, especially South East Asia, must be delighted to learn that Steemfest4 is going to be in Thailand. But till now, we are still hearing many doubts and indecision on attending. I believe this is due to the low low low Steem price. Last year this time, we bought the Steemfest3 ticket and paid 400 Steem for it (getting another for free from knozaki2015 san, thanks again!). But this year, even if the ticket is cheaper, let's say $200, we will still need to fork out 700 Steem for one!

Everyone had been earning lesser Steem/SBD during the past one year of crypto winter. To spend those hard earned Steem for a ticket is gonna be a hard decision to make.

We might even have to pay with cash if Steem price doesn't tank in the coming weeks. Let's hope ticket price can be announce soon...

5 days of event

Last year Steemfest3, it was easy for us to decide. We had been wanting to take a trip to Europe, and attending Steemfest3 in Krakow was part of the itinerary. However, this year, we had no intention to have a holiday in November. So to take 3-4 days of leave for Bangkok is really overkill for us. Singaporeans usually visit Bangkok for a quick getaway on weekends.

Flight and accommodation

Flight is easy. Cheap tickets anytime from Singapore to Bangkok. Just go for the budget airline like Scoot. Hotels should be straightforward too. Shouldn't cost too much. Just need to spend some time researching the conference venues.

Conclusion

Well, no conclusion yet. We have still not decided if we will be there this year. Unlike others, @jrvacation had not been active in Steem communities. Many events happened over the past year and I can say I am not too pleased with some of the direction of where Steem is going. Haven't been writing and posting much too. So I am not sure if I will enjoy the conference.

Most of my interaction with the blockchain is through playing Steemmonsters. It is the place where I spend most of my time, and my money. If there is one reason to attend Steemfest4, it will be to meet up with fellow SM players. For J, she will be looking forward to meeting with the girls and ladies.

Another alternative plan is, we might just fly over to BKK during the weekend just to meet with some of you. No need to buy a Steemfest ticket :)

We shall see. There is still 4 months to go. Alot of things may change by then...
