Liverpool one step closer to signing German starlet Timo Werner

Liverpool are hoping that in this transfer window they will be affiliated with RB Leipzig's striker Timo Werner. These chances have been significantly improved after Bayern Munich has dropped his interest in him.

According to the Mirror and Mail, the German club Bayern Munich were in the pole position to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, but after putting it on ice, Liverpool is now leading the race to capture the players signature.

Liverpool have in previous transfer window bought Naby Keita in RB Leipzig, and the two teams were supposed to have started a good cooperation. Jurgen Klopp wants to build on the success the team currently has, where in particular it needs to be improved if Liverpool is to maintain the high level.

Timo Werner scored 16 goals in 30 matches for RB Leipzig in the past season, while also scoring 10 goals in 25 matches for the German national team.
