Manchester United Transfer News: Is the Wan Bissaka deal going through?

It is another new season and another predictable transfer window under the stewardship of Ed Woodward. The reality is biting that indeed he was the man holding United back through 5 years of poor decisions and laid back transfer business.

Woodward has overseen the new contracts offered to Chris Smalling, Rojo and the part-time footballer, part-time patient Phil Jones.

He gave Phil Jones a whole 5-year contract. Can we just think about that for a minute? This guy cannot play three matches consequently without picking up some nondescript injury which keeps him out for weeks. Then for some reasons foreign to me, he ends up playing in some of our most important matches like the FA cup final in which he conceded a penalty after fouling Hazard in the box.

Most recently, Ed Woodward has seen it fit to extend Juan Mata's contract by three years despite him diminishing in quality and ability. Now, I love Juan. But if we are looking to challenge back into top 4 he is not the man you are looking to to help you do that.

With us playing in the Europa League I can see why he would be useful but for fucksake, he should be nowhere near the starting 11 on Premier League match day squads.

The Wan Bissaka Deal.

For the past 3-4 weeks, it has come out that United are chasing for Wan Bissaka's signature. It was never a secret that Manchester United was interested in the Crystal Palace right back but as usual, Woodward is driving a hard bargain, penny-pinching, and trying to dictate terms to Crystal Palace.

That would have been a fantastic strategy if we weren't actually desperate for a right back. With a selection of Ashley Young who is past it, Dalot who is good in attack but poor in defence and Darmian (remember him) who is a tourist at this point with an 'emergency player visa' we simply cannot haggle over 50 million.

While I am 90% confident that Wan Bissaka will be joining United probably by this week after the young lions were knocked out of their competition, I am cognizant of the time that has been squandered doing this deal while we could have been closing on another.

It has been vastly reported that Ed would like to close one deal at a time which further reinforces the premise that he is absolute shit at this job - the football side at least. Ed Woodward could easily make a 'butt itch balm' look magnificent as a shirt sleeve sponsor.

Meanwhile, it looks like the Bruno Fernandez deal has gone tits up and he could be heading to Liverpool to possibly replace Jordan Henderson. If that happens expect to take a massive pile of dung every season for the next decade or so as we haemorrhage talents like Pogba and De Gea who would no longer want to paddle to safe harbor on a leaky dinghy.

Since it seems United will not meet Solskjaer's demand to have all of the signings done by July 1st in time for the pre-season, what other signings would you like to see at Manchester United and which positions would you prioritize?
