Splinterlands Loud Challenge

(Edited)

This week's share your battle challenge involves using a card from the death splinter.

An old schooler who many of you will seldom find on the battlefield and is quite.. loud.

It isn't known for being a tank.

A spooky monster with a powerful attack

Without further ado let's look into it!

Theme: Screaming Banshee

The Screaming Banshee is an epic card from the Alpha and Beta edition.

It starts without any abilities, 1 hitpoints and a speed of 2

Its main selling point is its low mana cost of 3 and its magic attack of 2

This is pretty great for a card that only costs 3 mana

At level 3 it gains the Blast ability, which turns the Banshee into a powerful asset comparable with the ruler of the seas

The Doctor can be yours for 0.90$ at the moment.

I believe this is appropriate, this card can deal a lot of damage at low levels and on low mana battles

Where NOT to use

Due to its low hitpoints and low speed the Banshee could be an easy target for cards with Opportunity.

This is why you shouldn't use the Banshee on matches with high mana cap.

There are other cards out there with a comparable offensive and more hitpoints.

Where to use

  • Matches with low mana cap
  • Target Practice
  • Equalizer

For matches with low mana cap the Banshee is a strong asset. For three mana you obtain a card that deals 2 damage. This doesn't apply when you have other cards with higher levels though.

When the Banshee obtains the blast ability it can be able to damage up to three rival cards at the same time.

While battling with the Equalizer ruleset the main weakness of the Banshee vanishes, namely its low hitpoints

The Battle

This Battle took place in a ranked game. It involves the ruleset of "Equalizer" and "Taking Sides"

For this battle my rival brought a higher leveled summoner.

Overall I brought better cards though, since I brought 2 legendaries and 2 epics to the battlefield.

That being said my rival was able to reduce the offensive power of half my cards

My Lineup

  1. Dark Ha'on: A massive tank for the first spot. Able to sustain a lot of damage while protecting the rest of my lineup

  2. Screaming Banshee: This week's Banshee. Should've been on third place.

  3. Ancient Lich: Strong magic damage and with the ability to leech life. Must have for this ruleset

  4. Vampire: Same as the Lich. Its life leech ability becomes extremely useful for this ruleset

  5. Soulstorm: Massive range attack. Huge speed. Its main weakness vanishes with this ruleset. Should've been placed at last to protect from sneakers.

  6. Haunted spider: With only three mana left and Equalizer the poison ability can turn into a great asset.

This was pretty close!

My rival was able to take down my Dark Ha'on with ease while reducing the magic damage and thus the Lich's boosting thanks to only one card: The Spirit Soldier.

My Banshee was unfortunately taken down pretty quick due to my rival's strong attacking options.

After taking down the spirit soldier I was able to get through my rival's cards without the fear of getting poisoned.

My Banshee didn't survive long enough but was able to tank for my backline for a little while.

My Spider on the Backline was poisoning many of my rival's cards.
This was the main factor behind my victory.

See you in the Battlefield!

Thanks for sharing! - @yonilkar

Ohhh, that is a nice use of this card, it's like a tank card using Magic, nice advise about its uses.
