Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

This Week's Giveaway

I am pleased to announce that the card for this week's Blast From The Past Giveaway is an out-of-print, original Reward Edition Ettin Spearman.

The Ettin Spearman card is one of the monsters introduced as part of the original set of Reward Edition cards. At the time of his release, the Ettin Spearman was one of the most powerful monsters with ranged weapons. But all that power carried a heavy toll, his 8 Mana cost meant he was sidelined during all low Mana battles. As a result, he never really achieved the staus he deserved and as was often the case with the first release common cards, there was soon an oversupply and the value of the card plummeted to almost $0.00. Not surprisingly these cards were often burned for their DEC value which was more than their market value.

Since these cards have been out of print for a while they have risen in price significantly. The cheapest Level 1 Ettin Spearman card is currently $0.18 on the Splinterlands market. That means it is worth many times the 15 DEC you would get from burning the card. I'm glad I kept my Ettin Spearman cards safe and didn't burn any of them.

If you are just starting out and haven't been able to add a Ettin Spearman to your deck, then you should get in on this giveaway. The Ettin Spearman card will be sent to one lucky winner when this contest closes at post payout time.

If this Ettin Spearman card doesn't fit into your master plan for Splinterlands domination, or if you lack the skill to achieve victory with it, you can always send it to the burn chamber and extract the 15 Dark Energy Crystals locked within, but you'd be much better off trying to sell it in the market or rent it out and gain a steady income.
